The material is out there like Hitler's 25 points for those that are seriously interested in a deeper look.....It really is what it says...a mixture of nationalism and socialism...with hatred of the Jews thrown in... ultimately the whole episode is surrounded in tragedy and countless wasted lives. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Apr 2019 5.14pm) Right, everyone's so bloody touchy these days. Okay, so Saville violated a few of the underaged and vulnerable here and there, but his justgiving page was really active. And so Fred West might not be your first choice babysitter but ask his neighbours who had the most problematically unkempt garden - it wasn't him. A few difficult truths for the touchy there. (Oh and by the way, "National Socialists" rather than "Nazis": thanks for the clarification but give over, do - we all did History too. Pitiable.)

But so sorry, we obviously aren't allowed to ever write about anything else without incurring your ire. The reality is that those that are responsible for terrible things...and they were terrible aren't always the black and white caricatures that some prefer to keep to. This is no endorsement it's simply history. Some adults are able to process that, while some prefer to ignore colour in their realities. Edited by Stirlingsays (21 Apr 2019 1.45am)

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Edited by Stirlingsays (21 Apr 2019 1.45am) This is really the point. If you can't consider Hitler as black for yourself, for fear of overlooking his white then I really can't help. I'm perfectly aware humans are complex beings. Most of us manage that without the complex inclusion of genocide. If our only means of access or exposure to a notion is as presented by no other source than a monster, then let's talk. Otherwise, I'm happy to take my wildly complex consideration of fundamental socialist - or otherwise - principles without feeling obliged to contrast them with the subtle colour palette of a particularly murderous espouser. Childishly simplistic and avoidant thinking, though this surely us. In other news, Zaha is often great - at his best far better than we have a right to - so if I can still find much love for Wright despite myself, amongst my bitter pain than you can bet I've plenty besides for him. Good luck Wilf, you rotten, heartbreaking, deserting, sometimes breathtakingly brilliant lovely b******. (Because, yes, you're right, this is Palace Talk.)

Tremendous. (Anyone unfamiliar with this guy could do worse than check out the available back catalogue of his weekly offerings - they're typically superb. (Squires, I mean. Not WH - his weekly offerings have been a little sketchier. Pun most definitely intended.))

Surely this whole episode is a fecking joke. He “accidentally” does a Nazi salute to a German team mate which causes absolute outrage and then successfully uses ignorance as a defence which some old duffers actually believe! I do hope they do not show that ever so offensive episode of Fawlty Towers again - I might need some counselling.
