How much better do we look going forward when Jeff Schlupp is playing . He had a great chance late on and you could tell he was kicking himself. A match sharp Jeff would have pinged that in the top corner.

If the gaffer wants to continue, the 2nd half at Goodison was a very good application for another year in the hot seat.

Roy made good subs for a change but when he said afterwards we had as good chances to score as they had i thought he's finally lost it

The game at Everton was a great example of why we have played so negatively for most of the season. Against Everton we played quite "good football", we had more possession than them and we were forward thinking. However the defence couldn't cope when we lost the ball and Everton had a handful of excellent chances and could have got close to the Liverpool scoreline if they had taken their clear-cut chances. Most of the teams in the top half of the table would have taken more than one of the chances and we would have lost. To stay up, with this team, we have to keep it tight, play a low block and be a bit negative. That is my opinion and clearly Roy's opinion. I would probably like a change of manager this Summer but much more importantly we need a major overhaul of the squad if we are to see a better league position next year. Any manager would struggle to get points with the players we have (another year older).

That’s my opinion as well. Last night ,not for the first time , showed Roy , can turn on a tap of more open attacking play. The problem being the players never look totally comfortable with it, and struggle to defend properly when the play is stretched. Added to that even when in possession there is little composure, or the urgency needed to break down a capable defence.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |
