When you think pillis, Pardew,Allardyce then Monk fits that mould. He is a British manager and that suits the Palace profile. He did reasonably well with Swansea who have fallen away since he left and has done well at Leeds. I think the football would be attractive so all in all he rockets to the top of my wish list. 25/1 in the betting. Get you bet on quick, now down to 4/1 and falling.

I wouldn't be sad to see Monk at Selhurst. "Wheels came off" at Swansea and he was sacked 2015-16 with only 3 league wins in their first 15 games.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gary Monk' by Guntrisoft Had a disastrous run at Swansea that lead to his dismissal and a disastrous run at Leeds that saw them go from automatic promotion contenders to failing to even make the playoffs. If he's the best we can do then we're preparing for life in the Championship. Edited by bexleydave (25 May 2017 2.06pm)
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gary Monk' by Guntrisoft Maybe this is how Palace progress. Bring in Monk, sack him after 4 months, new man comes in, signs 2/3 players and we survive. At least it's not boring.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gary Monk' by Guntrisoft Hungry, young and ambitious. Yes please. Hodgson only has a couple of years left in the tank but would be safe for a year or so.few good options out there. Was just warming to Allardyce but I think we were a stepping stone for him to earn a few quid and recover some credibility. Suited both parties but difficult to get too attached to him.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gary Monk' by Guntrisoft He has a touch of the "Pardews" in my opinion. When the going is good, it's great, but once a few defeats come around, he seems to go on a huge run of defeats. It's a no from me.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gary Monk' by Guntrisoft Did well at Swansea and Leeds but not for me. Doesnt really have a network for signing players and dont think he would last long. His brother Harry helps him out with the most sticky situations.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gary Monk' by Guntrisoft Given that the current hierarchy have always favoured English managers then Garry Monk fits the bill. What concerns me is how at both Swansea and Leeds they were doing really well under Monk and then suddenly hit a brick wall and couldn't buy a win. As a previous poster said he sounds a bit too much like another Pardew to me.
