What a difference a week makes. Anyone who posted here up to the 9th April. Go back and read your posts and I'll bet you wouldn't agree with most of their content one week later.
Im not having a go, just pointing out how fast things can change in football.
Having said that, I expect all of us have been happily surprised by the extraordinary effect Glasner has already had on our club.
Long may it continue.

I have apologised already on more than one thread!

Its funny what a team with Olise and Eze and Wharton in it can do to the morale of the other players

Running off the ball becomes a joy rather than a chore when you know someone will try and find you , scoring becomes possible rather than unlikely and defending is easier with an out ball rather than a hoof that comes straight back

The players are showing improvement because they can now play ,the system seems to work better than no system at all under Roy which relied on individual talents that were too frequently unavailable to him . Im not one to crap on Roy ,he did his job for 6 years with what we had .

So to Glasner . He will be great but will need the tools to be so .Keeping our best players will be the key ,like managers before him he wont get a tune out of this squad without them .

I can see where you're coming from, but am suspicious of what managers say at press conferences.
In Coppell's days occasionally I would watch first team training at Mitcham.
Pre one game v the Wimbledon of Vinnie Jones and Fashanu, Coppell spoke of the difficult game he expected and how good the opponents where.
However, in the training session I watched Coppell said to his Palace players, 'If you stop the crosses you'll win 3-0.'
He exuded confidence and most of the session involved Palace working on finishing drills.

What's said for public consumption and what's said to the players can be very different things.

Was that just before we did them 3-0 at their drum. The season before they played at Selhurst. I and many on here may have been at plough lane that day, all I’m left are me memries

Sadly I can’t remember the result, but it could have been the game you referred to.

I do remember one game at Plough Lane where Vinnie Jones made one of the worst tackles I’ve seen on Geoff Thomas , and in retribution John Pemberton immediately came through and sent Jones flying.
These days Jones and Pemberton would probably be (quite rightly) serving lengthy bans as the tackles were like GBH with full intent.

It looks to me as though the group around Glasner are working hard with some on an individual basis whilst Glasner coordinates. I guess that’s nothing so new, but it’s working. He seems quite genuinely proud of the team he inherited and thinks he can help them all develop. I think he is right.

Let's not get carried away. Not that much a fan of xG but by that stat Liverpool were a goal better. We still looked panicky at corners.

As stated above, several of the players are out of contract come the summer and are playing for their careers either here or elsewhere. I definitely hope we have a great run-in - as we should if we play as well the past two games and Olise and Eze are available and fully fit - but I don't want Parish thinking that means we can take it easy in the summer. That was the mistake he made last year when we had a 5-3-2 W-D-L in our last 10 games

I don’t get the sense of anyone playing for their careers. I get the sense they are playing for the team. What does it matter though? They are playing well and showing they can. No one wants to play badly and are unlikely to forget how good it feels to play well.

Let’s enjoy it.

I forgot that we still looked crap on corners until someone mentioned it. I presume we're working on it anyway. Glasner looks like he has a plan and he seems to have something about him. I would tend to want to give him time and see how it goes. We seem to be gradually improving overall. I noticed we always tend to have men in the box now whereas there weren't before. The back three seems to be working currently - I'm quite surprised we've managed it this seemlessly. It's quite a big change for us.

Interesting chat from Glasner today. “I think in the second-half we didn’t have the ball for many minutes, but in the first-half we had a quick ball movement, playing quick, one or two touches, switch them from left to right, Because they always press, and when you have this, you get the gaps, you get the space.” A young forward thinking coach who favours one touch football is the ideal person to take advantage of the talent in South London brought up on cage football. The Liverpool game shows what can be done.

Glasner has had the benefit of returning players and some very good new players who have now bedded in.
Judging him now is premature, to say the least.

We were good at the start of the season before we had all the injuries under Roy. Roy was hard done by simply because he didn't have the players available and the fans needed someone to blame.

Hopefully next season we can retain our star players and push on.

I'd have though that any manager of a team with Olise, Eze, Wharton, Decoure, Anderson, Guehi, Henderson/Johnstone and Munoz among its ranks should be expected to do quite well.

Football is 90% about the players and 10% about the manager.

Richards, Mitchell and Lerma are no slouches either and, hopefully, Franca will contribute a lot more next season
It is up to Dougie and the board to push on within the PSR rules whilst balancing any sales with putchases that produce a better overall team
