Moved to Croydon when about ten and couldn't keep on supporting Hearts!

Moved to Addiscombe so was only 25 minute walk to the ground and most of my new friends supported Palace.

So it was the natural choice

I support Palace coz the (old) badge is tattooed on my leg! Can't remember how or when it got there, the eighties are just a blur, I know I was there, but that's about it!

Lived in Brigstock road (15 minute walk to Selhurst Park)until aged 5 then family moved to Shirley. The old man supported Palace and I followed in his footsteps from approx age 11. As soon as I was earning I bought a season ticket and still have one. Bought another for my four daughters to share and have recruited mother in law and niece to the ranks of Palace fans and they also have season tickets.
After experiencing 51 thousand fans at Selhurst Park there was no looking back.

Used to live in Sevenoaks, Kent, so they're my local. Simple as that.

Now they're bloody 3 hours away and my local is Bristol Rovers / Swindon / Cheltenham Town

A combination of reasons as to why I support Crystal Palace.

When i was starting to get into football, Crystal Palace were getting excellent coverage on TV in our First Division Championship winning year under Alan Smith (Endsleigh Sunday Football)
Additionally they are my local club, so it was not of the question for me to be able to see them.

I just think there is something special about Crystal Palace. Can't really put my finger on it though!

I think Palace got a lot of new fans this way. If you didn't have sky you could still watch football on telly in those days, and it was nearly always Palace ! 93/94 especially. I remember them showing Palace v Wolves that season, and I think thats when I really decided to start following them.

I support Palace cos my Dad has supported them all his life, He used to go to all the games home and away with his mates in the 60's & 70's, When I was younger I did follow Liverpool until I was about 6 as thats what all the other kids did but Dad started taking my to Palace on a regular basis just after my six birthday in 1984, it was a cold wet November day and we were playing a team in Blue and White cant remember who cos I could just about see them cos of all the rain, Palace won 2-1 and scored right at the end and I just remember seeing the amount of joy on my Dad's face when we scored !!!

Since then Iv been hooked !!!!!!

Most of my mates support Arsenal, West Ham and Spurs , so I would love us to go up so I could upset a few people, imagine beating Arsenal at home to stop them winning the league !!!

I was born and grew up In Bromley,It was my local team.Palace were on a high around the time of the Malcolm Allison era after being the first 3rd division team to reach an F.A cup semi-final.I went to the odd game here and there In the early 70's,but It wasn't till I went to the Q/final V Chelsea and saw Peter Taylor take them apart that I really became a full-time fan. That game did It for me.

My dad has been a fan since the sixties and my grandad was even earlier, it started with my grandad going because it was something to do and a bit of competition to watch in Croydon on a saturday, he took my dad and my dad took me to the odd game until the 95/96 season when we went so my dad could sit in the new Holmesdale, i felt diffrent than i normaly had at palace games, it was a big fix for me and since then i got hooked! PALACE TIL I DIE!

In the early 70s I lived in Forest Hill aged 11ish and went to watch Palace v Manure...........Charlton Best Law etc and we stuffed em 5-0 and Don Rogers scored a hat trick.
I thought anyone who can beat them is fine by me and have supported them ever since.

I went along with some friends for the last game of the 88-89 season, because I was interested in seeing what my local team was like. So they beat Birmingham 4-1, then won the playoffs, then were in the Cup Final the next year, then finished 3rd in the league, and my friends who had supported Palace for 30 years told me it wasn't always like this, but by the time I figured this out for myself it was too late and I was hooked. Couldn't live without them now, whatever they get up to. I've now got two sons who are Palace fans, and one day they'll write in to something like this to blame me for ruining their lives.
