I have wondered though and someone may know the answer whether it's actually possible to meet the timetable if you stuck rigidly to the speed Limit on each section of the line. Obviously slow trams, means late , which leads to over crowding and or an effect on profit.

It must be possible - with so many trams converging and parting on several different branches, I understood that all the timings were carefully done to avoid 'queuing' at stations and crossover points and to keep a regular distance between the trams.

The Tram timetable was worked out according to the line speed of each section including dwell times at Tramstops to allow for passenger loading. The punctuality of each tram is clearly visible to the Tram Operator via a visual screen on the dash and to the Controller at the Depot. Late running usually occurs due to outside interference, traffic or signal failures, rarely due to normal operations.

This has crossed my mind too. Hopefully we're wrong.

I also wondered if they have been doing this on a regular basis as seems likely but have got away with it because they did it with more carriages on the tram so it counter balanced itself. Not sure if it was because of the time of day but there were only two carriages when the accident occured.Whatever the outcome there should be no way they should be able to reach those speeds when entering bends.

I'm not sure whether this has been posted elsewhere, but Man City have also weighed in very respectfully. Despite all the cash they've retained a very classy heart to the club.

I also think that CPFC have handled it impressively and the support that both clubs are showing is admirable.

No less disrespectful or offensive than similarly idiotic conspiracy theories relating to the Twin Towers in New York, etc. One of the major problems with the internet is that it's given a voice to the single room dwelling, tinfoil hat brigade. Possibly even more concerning is recent evidence of the inability of large sections of the population to identify fact from 'fake news'.

I tend to ignore this kind of nonsense because I would first ask why would you make it up? Some idiots on the left at least argue that 9/11 was planned to justify the war on terror and neo-nazis deny the holocaust because they're neo-nazis.
