His passion and enthusiasm is a wonderful thing we all agree, the Sounesses and Adebayor's of this world can have their fake snobbery, but Sammy understands and respects the passion and force that drives all clubs, and doesn't regard us as two bob, despite a seriously illustrious career but clearly respects and enjoys our passion and commitment. That's bleeding obvious - but as far as his playing career is concerned my personal tale is of my sister and her poncey boyfriend on holday in Portugal in '84. They got tickets to the real Stadium of Light to see Benfica v Liverpool in the European Cup quarter final second leg (it might have be the semi - same year when the Reds beat Roma in Roma in the final, Grobelaar's wobbly legs et). It was 0-0 in the first leg at Anfield and Liverpool wren't too fancied for the second leg v Benfica. But hLiverpool destroyed them 4-1 and all the local fans were telling my sis and her fella how Liverpool were clearly the best side in Europe. My sister's other half was a rugby fan, not really into footy - his report to me on the game was that the stand out player on the pitch was .... Sammy Lee. "What a player, absolutely everywhere, never stopped, got the rest of them playing" or words to that effect. And this was the Liverpool team at its absolute zenith: Souness, Dalgleish, Hansen, McDermott etc. Yes, he is a f*cking legend, and good on Franky boy for keeping him on - I'm sure he won't sack him at Christmas once we're comfortable and bring in Bergkamp!

Good story. We seem to now be blessed with top staff, good players. Just think what we can achieve if we get in a new GK, RB, CAM, STKR. doesn't bare thinking about, anything is possible lol

Rest of positions a yes. In this order: CAM

Well pleased that Little Sam appears to be staying on. FdB is no mug and Sammy's CV is a good one. It also means that there's no contract buy-out payment for SP / CPFC 2010 to find ;-)
Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune) |

Then I think we need cover for ST because we have one fit recognised striker right now and that is shocking. CAM is important, but ultimately we have Cabaye who has reverted back to his much preferred forward position and looked great at the end of last season. As for goalkeeper can be sorted by Steve staying and impressing.
