I'm still in the Hennessey camp but I don't really see where the criticism of Speroni is coming from. Sometimes I think we expect too much from our keepers and Speroni has made several very good saves in the last few matches. The shot from Sanchez which went in at his near post was hit very firmly through a crowd and I think he did well to get his fingers to it. Perhaps he could have done better for the first but the third was one of those times that, had he saved it, I'd be saying it was an excellent stop. I think most Palace fans want a younger top flight keeper but they aren't cheap and I imagine it is a case of prioritising for Roy and the club. No one is ever saving that, nor their second. Their first, the only option is to parry it as wide as possible - the alternative is to parry it straight out. You go wide, because its less of a risk - Its to tight to put it round the post, or over the bar. No one's catching that, regardless of what Henry might drivel. I also think Speroni would be among the first to agree that we need a first choice keeper, rather than playing the emergency back up keeper.

Neither is Jules the goalkeeper he was. Still light years ahead of our other option.

Carry on deluding yourself! How exactly am I deluded? What in the hell makes you have the right to say I’m deluded!? You’re almost insane if you think that the goalie who was an ever present during our worst ever PL runs is better than the GK that got us up. Kept us up. Has won more player of the year awards than any other player in our 112 year history and has now been custodian during our best ever PL run. How the hell am I deluded!? Go on! I want to hear it.

Because you are just a hypocrite when it comes to our keepers. Our keeper during our worst ever run was not at fault with all the goals against as you erroneously claim. Liverpool - Lukas mistake, Burnley - Chungs pass to their forward, Swansea home - Kelly against Ayew, Southampton - no defender to pick up the rebound after a good save and let unmarked player to score. However the purler which shows you don't know diddly squat was when you blamed Wayne 100% for the ROI goal against Wales after he gave the ball to a defender who called for it but when Jules passes the ball to a defender not expecting it and a goal results you can't have your beloved Jules to blame can you so you tried to switch the blame to Dann. My post above was in reply to Willo saying Czech was not the keeper he was. I've watched the link re Jule's saves and there were some marvellous saves from a young agile keeper with marvellous reflexes. That Speroni could leap like a Gazelle to get to shots and would have almost certainly saved the Newcastle goal this year and West Ham's first. He would also have kept out Sanchez two goals last night and would have jumped high enough to tip Defoee's shot over the bar. As I said that he is NOT the keeper he was and if you can't admit that then yes, you are deluded. End of!

He has served us well but like Hennessey is not a premiership keeper. In fact I prefer Hennessey, Jules was slow to both Sanchez shots and is not dominating enough in the air. I say play Wayne until we buy someone better. Are you serious ?
I don't need to sell my soul...he's already in me.

Seems that a few select people on here think Speroni is above criticism and anyone offering a different opinion is not a palace fan. Hogwash ((c) Willo) to that I say. We need a new keeper, which is why we are after one in January.
