History will tell you that your choices were very limited. Basically a Tory and Labour uniparty these days. A couple of subtle policy differences - all with exactly the same outcomes for the country and the people. It's more like policy packaging and labelling than any actual practical or real policy; soundbites as it were.
So don't blame yourself. Everyone on this forum has been conned one way or another. The most conned people are the ones that don't realise they've been conned.

Alf Garnett didn't have to put up with the sh1t or shut up. Quite clearly he was allowed to express his views. He was racist for racism's sake. Compared to now - he had nothing to worry about. Genuine poverty, crime and anti social behaviour were no where near what they are now. Society could largely police itself.
People now, with genuine real world concerns that involve literally opening up their eyes and looking around them at the state of the place are not so lucky.
Alf Garnett's generation would not have put up with this. They would have held the clown politicians we have to account. There would have been British unrest, protests and strikes. Not Palestinian ones.

What is creepy, but unsurprising, is your support and celebration of the brainwashing of children, sexual deviants and the casual termination of nascent lives.

If your first statement is true then surely that means society has improved? No-one should be racist for racism’s sake.

I don’t know how old you are but at nearly 80 I can assure you that there was never a time that society could largely police itself. There have always been issues and complaints about “the state of the place”. I was part of Alf Garnett’s generation and his type was familiar enough back then, when they were regarded just as they are now by all but themselves. Odd, but noisy.

Exactly the same applies today.
