It has been obvious for years and was emphasised tonight:
We lack a quality, controlling mid-fielder - a Barry Bannon who can hold the ball giving forwards a chance to run.

It is just kick and hope now. They were the more refined team but we just sat back and invited them on, we could easily have lost.

Is it the manager or is it the players?

We battered them towards the end of the first half and start of the second half. So why Roy thinks the best thing to do is then go defensive for the final 25 minutes is beyond me. Inviting wave after wave of attack is incredibly stressful to watch and clearly why we concede so many late goals. It's so negative. We deserved to concede and are lucky we didn't lose.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

So after 50min I knew we were f***ed. Roy must have known the same.

Why doesn't he at least try to get the intiave(sp) back. At least try. This is what I want in a manager. At least try.

Zerbi had 2 subs at halftime to try and change it. and it worked. Roy did nothing after he saw that those 2 subs changed the game. I thought he was gonna bring off Mateta for Eze and put Ayew ontop for some counter.

Lerma I love him, but just been out. Couldn't Schlupp(love him or hate him) Have played the last 15.

Ok Im not a manager but it seems so strange with the lack of subs. Ok Brighton is a slightly better team them us. But not more then 5%. They managed to change the second half, we did nothing to prevent that.

That ain’t the subs fault. Roy’s half time talk was sit back and defend and hold onto the 1-0 , he should have said go get another and put the game to bed. Even defending we don’t press teams it’s so frustrating to watch. Just defensive bull s***e .

Going to wait 10mins until the crowd clears.

From a Main Stand perspective - we were extremely lucky to get away with a point. Don’t want to slate the players off - thought Mateta and Richard’s put in good shifts.

Tactically, Brighton adjusted their formation in the second half - Welbeck caused us all sorts of problems.

Eze should not of come on. Needed a Jeff S to take the pressure off down the left.

Respect the point

Thought the subs were awful for the second half. Eze on the wing and only just recovered from injury, Ozoh instead of Ahemada. The team also decide to sit so deep. Frustrated but respect the point.

I'm also not sure about Richards in midfield.

Most of their bench would have got in our starting line up.

We should have kept Ayew on.

Impressive performance by Clyne.

I'll say this - one point fine. Loss not fine. Next match - win. At least not lose.

What a joy to see a team playing like that at Selhurst.
Fluid, mobile, progressive,clever tactical
switches,good young players, brave subs.
Just a shame it was Brighton.
To hear our fans whistling for the ref to blow for full time when drawing was illustrative.
Yes, we battled and worked hard.
But the gulf in coaching beween two teams was a mile wide if truth be told.

I'm not sure about Richards in any position - Keith Richards would be just as effective.
