Time to get behind him and the team. Pretty sure he will play to our strengths and get player's playing in the correct position. Feeling quite positive about Saturday now. Good luck. Onwards and upwards.

^^ Though not my ideal candidate IMO but completely agree that we must get behind the Team and Manager. COYP!

I am sure you will all join me in wishing him all the very best as he embarks on a new chapter in his football career.

Well said Willo. RH has a reassuring presence about him, and vast experience. WBA and Fulham fans speak about the order and structure he brought to their teams: exactly what we need.

I'm only a few years younger than Roy, If I can still manage the stairs I don't see why Roy can't manage Palace! Age before Beautiful Football!

I will just add to that, welcome Roy and lets hope we can stay positive and behind you and the team for long enough to see success, it surely will come with what is a good squad of players and an experienced man at the helm.

Still completely fed up with the management (the board) of the club and IMO that is what needs to change. Hodgson is, without doubt, a backward step again. But hey the owners can afford to keep wasting their money on managers it would seem. Anyway, I wish Roy all the best and hope and pray he can save our Premier status. Palace 3 Southampton 0

At last, a decent thread with in the main positive vibes towards the Manager. My view is that Roy will indeed bring some stability to the club, as well as considerable experience. I think his contacts through his time time at the FA as well as premiership football will enhance the clubs inexperienced areas. I also think this is an appointment where SP can take a bit of support from his Manager, as opposed to him having to always take the hit and abuse on his chin. This Manager may actually help SP in areas where has has often had to go it alone. I understand he has pretty good transfers contacts too. Just drop the lispy stuff boys, we are better than that.

Well done SP, Welcome Roy, were glad your home.

Welcome Roy. Whoever would have thought that two boys from my old school would end up as managers of Crystal Palace.

It's CPFC money so it's money now unavailable to spend on whatever it may have been. Players, academy, scouting, future stands. 2 in a year.

Spot on Rudy, could have done with a striker couldn't we. Just so disappointed as we have a squad of players like never before. If Roy selects the correct team and can get them going we can all relax. Lets keep fingers crossed and let us hope the board will start learning soon.

Good luck Roy. Safe appointment. Can't blame him for the England debacle. England back then we're sh*te and as a Scotland fan I know sh*te when I see it.
