The 2 Sheffield clubs each have a keeper who has impressed me when I've seen them. Joe Wildsmith for Wednesday and Jamal Blackman for United.

To add to the suggestions.

Jiri Pavlenka from Bremen. Highly rated Czech 25 year old goalkeeper. Supposedly the heir to the Petr Cech throne in that part of the world.

Pretty sure we'd take any of these over Hennessey in a heartbeat.
I'm praying Guaita is on his way AND that we have the good sense to get another top quality keeper.

I'd be pleased to see any of these arrive; I think we'll need to sign two keepers; I'd imagine Hennessy will be very open to offers; he's kept his place against two keepers signed to improve on him so far. The experience must be getting very old from his oerspective.

One things for sure, based on experience, forcing it through if the player has his heart set elsewhere is asking for trouble.

If he has already signed a pre-contract as has been previously suggested then maybe we could enforce that and then immediately sell him to AM - bingo - money in hand for new keeper.

If he has decided he doesn't want to come then this is the most likely outcome. We seem sure he has signed a pre-contract so on 1st July he becomes our player and to move elsewhere this will have to be bought out. His buy out at Getafe was 8 million Euro so a figure in that sort of ball park

I have to agree with this and I have been a critic of his for some time. He will be a good back up and has shown in recent weeks that he seems to finally be understanding how to come off his line and own the penalty box. Still has weaknesses but there are not that many better who would be worth splashing out on.

If the deal falls through for Guaita which seems very unlikely and I pray does not happen, then how about Forster at Southampton? I feel he is a little better than what we have and is now second choice so may not cost too much.

Having said all this, I really hope Guaita does come and plays as well for us as he has been in Spain over the past few seasons. I have a good feeling this will turn out to be one of our best transfers in many years!!

I like the look of that McCarthy fellow there whose just won their POTY. Hold on wait a minute .....

Where’s all this cojones about Guaita not wanting to come here coming from? Seems people are making their minds up after seeing a story online from one news source.

Speroni still has it when you look at training footage. So I imagine he'll still be third choice next season.

Steve Browett said on fyp podcast the deal is done with Guaita coming to Palace.

He sounds a top keeper keeping lots of clean sheets including shutting out Lionel Messi and co in a 0-0 draw at the Nou Camp.

Does that mean we have signed Vicente Guaita, or is that deal not happening now?

Hopefully this window we can get transfers done rapidly

It can only be a good thing to have the transfer window closed (for purchases) before the start of the season.
