Having managed clubs such as Liverpool and Celtic, I very much doubt that messrs Rodgers and Postecoglu would be interested in the role at our club.
Celtic where Postecoglu currently manages will be in the Champions League next season.

We might have been in the PL for 10 years and are based in London but we do not have that aura to attract managers who have plied their trade at such a level. I am not being disrespectful to our club, I am just trying to introduce a dose of realism.

Sounds like he's the current favourite for the Tottenham job, albeit I'd think their fans would be a bit disappointed with Rodgers.

If he weren't to get that job, Chelsea look like they're going for Nagelsmann.

Behind those two, every other manager above us looks very secure. Perhaps he waits to see if Moyes gets sacked but with their run in (Away - Bournemouth, Palace, City, Brentford, Leicester; Home - Arsenal, Liverpool, United, Leeds) they are a long way from being safe. Otherwise, maybe the Leeds job?

Once you get past Spurs and Chelsea, we're very possibly the next best option.

Another option would seem to be Arne Slot who is currently with Feyenoord?

It's been a terrific start under Roy but I would be so disappointed if he is in charge next season.

Two good games does not make an attacking manager and I can assure you that when everything is reset and we're back to playing defensively and making no subs until the 80th minute people will have forgotten all about us hammering Leeds.

For me Rodgers would be a terrific coup. He starts off brilliantly everywhere he goes before tailing off after 2-3 years but, to be honest, not many modern managers last that long anyway and I'd take the two good years.

Won the FA Cup with Leicester, nearly won the league with Liverpool, dominated the SPL with Celtic even more than usual. I think he'd be terrific.

Would be very happy with Potter or Postecoglou as well. The idea that a Celtic manager wouldn't take a mid-table Premier League job is a nonsense.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Whoever the new manager is will face the same set of circumstances that faced PV when he took over from RH, namely, a number of players at the end of their contracts and a good few who can't cut it consistently in the PL anymore. This, plus the charge of attempting to integrate the choicest of academy players into the squad, aligned with a limited transfer kitty, means that the next manager should have some experience and a good deal of enthusiasm for a task that could prove rewarding if got right.

I just hope Parish makes his mind up quickly and makes a good decision. We need in my opinion a youngish manager , good track record, reputation as a good coach, and with good PL experience. Potter would be good. Slot doesn't have PL experience but ticks the other boxes, and Feyenoord play good counterattacking football, so wouldn't be a bad choice

Whilst the new manager is unlikely to have the same transfer kitty as Vieira, I think it fair to say the 16 first team players currently under contract beyond the end of this season are both of a better quality and overall younger than the remnants of the squad retained after Hodgson's departure. The holes in the squad aren't as large as Vieira inherited so the new manager will start from a stronger position.

The big proviso, of course is that we DON'T lose any of our key young players, namely, Guehi, Eze, Olise and Doucoure.

And Zaha of course!

I'm not so worried about losing Zaha as I am about losing the youngsters. Yes I will miss Wilf and will be forever grateful for his contribution to the club but he's not going to get any better. Indeed, he is more likely to decline if he stays. Furthermore, I am one of those who thinks his presence on the pitch can affect some of our other players' contributions negatively as they feel obliged to give him the ball even when there are other team mates better placed.

In the unlikely event Wilf stays it will be interesting to see how next year's manager uses him.

Equally torn for reasons you give. Like to see him after he has been property "Royed"

I dont see now we can risk going into the unknown again, its too much of a gamble, stick with Roy and Ray for at least half of the season, dont sell any key players until January, and try to either get Paddy or Powell or someone Roy likes so Roy and Ray lay the fundamentals until the person is ready, even McArthur, a new untried man with a different outlook and not much to spend is a recipe for disaster.
