I must admit, I’ve never seen the rule in writing, it’s only what I’ve picked up from posters on this site. If we can offer a straight forward loan, I can see CG choosing us over anyone else. He knows have valued he was, and he knows he will play in a system that suits him. Yes i know what you mean, he absolutley loved it at SP and we loved him , and his enthusiasm was so infectious . I cant see him going to sandcastle or neverton . I hope!

With an option to buy or permanently from the off then I would love to. I just worry with a loan and nothing else, we just end up back here again next season I understand your sentiment, but loaning a player we know will perform is not a negative. If the club have the money to buy a permanent player that can or will eventually perform to the same level, then I’d say that is the better option…but have we found such a player? Can we even afford that type of player? With Wolves asking for 35m for Gibbs-White, I’d imagine we can’t afford a player as good as CG. I’d really prefer the club don’t spend that sort of money on a single player for the foreseeable future. We over spent on Benteke and Sakho…it’s no wonder a few years down the line we didn’t have a penny left to spend on younger players. We have just again started signing proper players again and I’m more comfortable with the 15-20m fees we have been seeing. Saying that…I’d take a punt on Watkins if he was available for around 26m.

Well im in Ireland and follow the Northern Ireland league very loosley and, not trying to insult the guy but ive never heard of him . If he was outstanding in the league he would be heard of . Maybe the scouting team see something special in him.

Maybe the scouting team see something special in him. Feels like we've brought him in to make the U23 team competitive (and maybe allow Jake O'Brien a League 1 loan at the same time) with a view to turning a profit on him. Both of those players feel too old to make it with our first team.

Yh, even if he didn’t play for Chelsea in between if we signed him again it would be two seperate year long transfers- 2 deals. Moises Kean went to Juve on a 2 year loan deal in one transaction. These are now banned.
