And if we win against Everton, we could be 11th As I said earlier, if we maintain current ratios wins and draws we should make 41 points come next May and as others have said there is no obvious dead cert relegation club in the bottom half of PL so this is going to be a long hard battle to the wire. currently and compared with this time last season we are two points worse off, but we do have four clean sheets under PV compared to one last year. Goals scored are the same 19.

Notwithstanding Hodgson's reputation as a defensive coach, Vieira's high press illustrates the modern game, and that attack is a form of defence. Edited by southnorwoodhill (12 Dec 2021 9.17am)

Hopefully, a couple of good additions in the next transfer window will help the cause and a win today would be a good start and give us some space from the drop zone!

Yes how dare someone have a different opinion to yourself, they have no right supporting palace I can accept difference of opinions, but I really struggle with doom and gloom merchants when you consider how bad things were under Roy compared to what PV is trying to do and what we've seen glimpses of this season.

We all know the football under Roy was a tough watch. But you have to say that the ends justified the means with the players he had. Well, I do anyway ! But it's a fact that it's increasingly more difficult to win games in the Prem. Even the Top Three yesterday needed penalties. Yes, PV is trying to take us in a totally different direction football wise. But it's going to take time to properly embed it. There will and has been bumps in the road. I don't think it's a '' doom and gloom '' outlook to accept that in a tight division we are currently in a potential relegation mix with 10 other clubs. No doubt if we win the next three games, some on here will be talking Europe again !

It's amazing how quickly opinions change on this forum. When Vieira was appointed the general opinion was that it would take time and that if we escaped relegation in his first year that would be a good job done. Having muddied the waters with a couple of unexpected victories earlier in the season expectations changed overnight and it's now all doom and gloom if we don't win

Not a lot,, there is more going right, we are going in the right direction, we are on a form blip, the last 3 games have been on the finest of margins. Even pat in his latest presser said he expected periods like this. The football has infitly better so far ..a breath of fresh air, we were perhaps getting ahead of ourselves after a couple good wins. We are a midtable team, that can run the best on our day, hoping to go up a couple notches. When all our attacking talent is fit and avaible and pat can work out the formation that gives them all chances, we could be super exciting, pat and the team are learning all the time. But most of us have that rollercoaster mentality waiting for defeat being snatched from the jaws of victory.

We could have beaten Burnley, Leeds and United but lost points by fine margins. This game will be decided by the fine margins once again. Edited by EddieMac (12 Dec 2021 12.10pm)

We played utd and villa on new manager bounces, and there is no is disgrace in losing by fine margins at o/t or Elland Road. We didn't get gubbed or play shocking with no soul.

Its nothing to do with doom and gloom as you call it, I rather say its being realistic about our current position and the fact that as it stands along with several other teams there is no doubt that as things are, we are in a relegation battle, rather than pushing for a top four finish as some seem to unrealistically believe and expect. Having experienced and supported CP since the days of division three (south) I can tell you our current standing is a big success for me and I'm more than happy to be a mid table/bottom half team as long as we do not get relegated. Just for the record at this time last season we had two more points than we do currently and there was nothing bad that Roy has done for this club, in actual fact he performed a fantastic job with limited resources in keeping us in this league and he should be appreciated not vilified.
