It all sounds very good and encouraging however this league is all about putting points on the table how many times already this season have we taken the lead but have not been able take advantage and see the game out. As a team we need to knuckle down and start performing as we have a number of star players, if we aren't careful will be bottom 3 by the start of the World Cup

All very true.

To avoid relegation (always the default position) a team has to win ten matches. The other eight points will have trickled in while this happens. We've won one in seven and need to win nine from the remaining thirty one. We need to win one of every three matches we play from now.
It could have been 2-0 after eleven minutes today. And Brentford could, and should, have been 3-0.

Wasn't it Ayews cross for the goal......

Yes it was... His 1st assist of the season.. Perhaps he'll match the mind boggling 3 assists he achieved last season.. Ayew being a starter does not represent progress in our 10th Premiership season.

Seems quite a lot.

Apparently- the clock at the training ground is 5 minutes fast!

Too often under Vieira the result we get isn't reflective of the overall performance.

Incredibly frustrating

The next seven games will give us a much better picture of where we're at as they are all games we should have more hope of getting points from. Take out the top teams that we mostly always lose to and we have three fixtures - Villa, Newcastle, Brentford - which we've taken five points from. Also, people keep saying we don't look like scoring but we have now scored against Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea, as well as Villa and Brentford. Our defence has done pretty well too.

Don't get me wrong, I am worried about how thin our squad is, but I do think we have enough quality to get 10-14 points over the next 7 games (providing we can get Andersen back alongside Guehi) which would send us into the winter break on course for mid-table. With the summer's outlay we were unlikely to be tapping on the door to the top 10 but I'm still largely happy with how the team are doing. But FFS can the Gods give us a last-minute winner for once!

I thought Ayew was not only our best player in the first half, but the best player overall. Second half he faded, especially when he was moved to the left. He does a lot of dirty work for the team and is far more physical than most.

Yet again we concede in the 90th minute plus. Something that has become a trademark under Vieria.

End of the day we have players like Ayew and Ward in our starting line up so it's gonna be a long season.

After a fantastic last season this season just doesn't feel right to me.

Behave, Ayew was probably our best player today.

A few wins in the next few weeks, everything will fine. The usual talk of top 10

This ranting at Ayew seems to become a habit regardless of his performance. IMHO he linked up pretty well with Olise and he is one of the most unselfish players I have seen. Always gives 100% regardless of opponent and score. He was a regular starter under Roy and is a regular starter under PV. So there seems to be some value which makes continous critics a little bit questionable.

If he carries that on consistently then fair enough but he doesn't. Him and Ward are not good enough to be starting in the Premiership.. That's one of the reasons we are 4th from bottom.

This is our 10th season in the Premiership and we should have better quality than that.
