Over summer there were people screaming that we need a full overhaul. In reality we only needed about 3. We've had Eze, Clyne, Batshuayi, and Ferguson.

Eze has made a difference, but he's not been played in his correct position yet.

Roy's completely overlooked plenty of talent, plus has only got 6 months left.

Who'd invest in an underperforming manager effectively working his notice period? Especially when the manager has repeatedly shown that he wont use the players he's been given.

But what are they trying to play? This team looks like a Sunday pub team! No shape (Roy's speciality subject), no discipline, no desire - all facets of the game that fall under Roy's jurisdiction. Roy gives them instructions and sends them out to play, what you see is his planning. Or is PVA always out of position because he doesn't listen to Roy's instructions? If so, why is he always selected? I thought Roy (according to Ray) was one of those types that if you don't do as he says, you don't get a look in?
It seems to me that Roy has lost the players, they look confused and leaderless, with no clear idea of what they need to achieve and how to achieve it.
Of course there is no excuse for the obvious lack of effort, but again this stems back to the manager - it's his job to motivate and inspire, but if you listened to the Villa post match interview, Roy is uninspiring, snappy and defensive, with the usual "if this if that" waffle.
The cold fact of the matter is the players didn't react to the thumping by Liverpool, facing a team down to 10 men for 45 minutes. As a manager paid to sort that stuff out, Roy failed.

How many of our players would Villa use, Zaha, Eze, Shlupp, Townsend, Riedewald and Ayew, does that not inform you of our problems, all the rest against strong squads will struggle. Not the fault of our manager.

Looking at the squad in general we have 15 players nearing 30 or already into their 30s and they lack vibrancy, energy and pace and of course injuries take longer to heal.Far too many players in the twilight of their careers.

In terms of midfield, Meyer is out of the equation and Kouyate who is a midfielder by trade has had to be deployed in central defence.

Apropos formation, I suspect to see a change against Leicester.

Looking at the squad thats correct. But its not an excuse for the team on the pitch yesterday. There's no excuse for being run off the park with a team with 1 less player than us.

Name these players please and where they would help with scoring and defending.

How would you have played Villa if you were the manager?

It's not what you've got it's how you use it, as any decent chef would tell you.

When one has a numerical advanrage in terms of players on the pitch, the common wisdom is to make the pitch big, move the ball quicker and switch the play.

We lacked energy and pace and had no outlet whatsoever down the right to the extent that all our attacks were somewhat 'Narrow' which suited a team a man short.

As for their second goal, it stemmed from a needless free kick from Milivojevic (Yet again) Ward got beaten to the ball by Watkins whom he was marking and Kouyate never reacted when Konza whom he was marking ran past him and headed the ball as it came down off the bar.Terrible defending all round.

I got slated for slagging of Kayoute for ball watching against West Ham. Dragged off early (for Roy) against Liverpool and he still starts yesterday. It's seemingly impossible for some players to get dropped. Like Wilshere getting selected for Euro 2016 over again.

We've got pace in Zaha, Eze, Schlupp, PVA and others... we just don't set up correctly to use it. No changes were made until we were 2 down on 70 minutes and even that as like-for-like.

Think Roy will stay until the end of the season, unless a successor has already been found now, perhaps the like of Howe ? December fixtures always looked hard. If we go down tomorrow then it has been a poor month, a win, then not too bad, 8 points from 6. COYP !!

We're not going to win though are we? We wouldn't beat a league one side playing like this.

Whats the plan if any ? Maybe the answer is to drop down a division and play youngsters and regroup as we are just treading water in this division.

Do you understand / appreciate the financial impact of that?

There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be blooding some of the youngsters now - the likes of Banks, Woods, Kirby etc.. Look around the league other Teams and Managers do it..!!

But Roy just sticks to his favorites irrespective of form, performances and results.

Even if it means playing those favorites out of position - look at the other week played Schlupp up front with Bats on the bench - please what’s all that about..!!
