Sorry you guys feel you've been a bit pissed around by Eddie. I seriously don't think that was his intention, just that the sheer force of everyone at Bournemouth wanting him to stay was too much for him. I wish you all the very best and will be keeping an eye out for how you're getting on. You were the only one of the sides in for him that I would have accepted him going to as it genuinely sounds like you could build something exciting with your new owners. P.S. I haven't posted similar on any of the Charlton boards. I would have been more gutted than a gutted thing if he'd gone to them

Just because they got a manager it doesnt mean they got the right manager. In my mind it makes more sense to spend a bit longer opening a few doors to see whats inside than putting everything into the first. We did actually win our last league game, I dont see how everything is as dire as you make out.

And for your information, SW16 Girl (who seems to have pretty good contacts at the club) has posted on the BBS to say that there's still several irons in the fire - we weren't pinning everything on Howe accepting

I wish Bournemouth all the very best, hope they go up this season. As for Eddie Howe, well he may just have blown an opportunity that may not come knocking again. Actually I'm glad that he's made the decision to stay - I felt his indecision meant his heart wasn't in the Palace job, and I didn't want him to go to the Clowns. And i guess we're quick enough to complain there's no loyalty in football, so no complaints there.

Hi Rory, Well that was put in place a few days ago so maybe that is what they are happy to lead with and see fit as the best option? I'm sure the money they offered Howe would be enough to coax most of the managers linked.seems none of them were quite right although I'd have though Hughton or Wilkins would work very well with Dougie.Maybe they aren't interested in coming to us,who knows. Remember we have Kember now as well,so it's not necessarily last option should it be them who take the reigns. I just find it a little astonishing that people already,without anything concrete,come on here telling CPFC2010 how to do their jobs. I'm sure they'll be the first to hold their hands up if they feel they wasted their time pursuing Howe and the first to say IF they haven't anyone else lined up and whether that was intentional or not.

The crowd is outstanding, and especially with the penalty after 44 minutes it was clear when we came out after half-time the welcome would be pretty loud and not too friendly. Crystal Palace wanted to strike back, so that was all clear. This is a wonderful place to play football - Jurgen Klopp |

With all that said though, good luck to you all, mainly to the respectful fans that seemed to have understood our position. We've had to sit and watch our best prospects leave without a seconds thought, so it's good to see this golden era may be extended.

Quick question AFCBdc. What do you make of him having a history of talking to other clubs then turning them down? For me that'd be quite frustrating and surely he can't be seen as the hero over and over again. Edited by cpfcwiltshire (11 Jan 2011 2.08pm)
