My main doubt in Howe would be due to his age, the Doog might have a gripe that someone younger than him would get the job, whilst he would be told he lacks experience. Howe would be a superb appointment, but I can see it possibly upsetting Dougie somewhat.

I'm not saying he lacks experience because he doesn't, but he's young and it may seem ironic to tell Dougie he lacks experience whilst someone 4 years younger than him gets the job. I don't have a problem with it, I'd love Howe in charge.
