I loved Nicola Ventola's goal against Southampton, out all season, and gets a peach like that! really thought that would have been the goal to keep us up.. then he gets dropped for the Charlton game!! let it go Matt, let it go... The bloke was mustard, i so wish we could have seen more of him, and if we stayed up i think we would have.. Edited by MPE (31 Mar 2011 6.48pm)

I think we should firstly agree on what constitutes 'great'. It strikes me that the list has a lot of significant goals rather than spectacular or well-worked goals such as... Jim Cannon v Ipswich (H) 1979/80 Gareth Southgate v Portsmouth 1994/95 Chris Armstrong v Portsmouth 1994/95 Matt Jansen v Norwich (H)1998/99 Ian Wright v Wimbledon Paul Hinshelwood v Liverpool (H) 1976/77 Darren Ambrose v Aston Villa (H) 2009/10 There are so many but these are a few that spring to mind. It was brilliant, we always used to take points off them(how times have changed eh!).. He was a top player.....but very rarely showed it!
