Showing our age a bit here, I remember him and Alfie Noakes, both from the same era.

True but we were only nippers, Jack Edwards was another decent full back then and CH Len Choules.
A relative of Roy's posted on here in 2009, his Grandson I think, I have sent him a PM of condolences.

I can also remember Roy Bailey, Peter Berry, Ronny Brett, Ray Colfar, Mike Deakin, Gwyn Evans, Tony Collins(the first Black player to play for Palace) and of coarse Johnny Byrne, and Terry Long, I was going to mention Johnny McNichol, and Vic Rouse but they were towards the end of that era.

Affectionately known as "Chopper" and renowned for his headed clearances, often inches from the ground.

I know its been a month since Roy's sad passing, but does anyone know if the club is doing a minutes silence or applause before the Brighton game.Due to our fixtures, this is the first opportunity to do so
