Is there any way we can raise his profile and do something to prompt Argentina to have a look. Long shot I know but it would be a great gesture.

Unfairly took stick earlier in the season on this forum, he has to be in the top 5 of the most consistent keepers so far this season, no big costly mistakes at all. Long may it continue!

He did not take stick unfairly. Most of the comments were not insulting and were quite objective. The bottom line is that he is playing in a system which effectively has four centre backs and six defenders most of the time. The way Pulis sets the team up is going to make almost any half competent goalkeeper look good. Furthermore, the one thing Jools has always been good at (the reflex save) is the one area where he can continue to shine and, indeed, he stills pulls off the spectacular save as he always has done. But with four centre backs and six defenders, while his shortcomings as "in the box keeper" remain, they really don't cost us that much because there are plenty of bodies to clear the ball without needing to rely on the keeper. Jools is very lucky. He's playing for a team set up to make him shine though no doubt, recently, shining is what he is doing.

Objective? Then you didn't read the same posts I did. There were plenty saying he isn't good enough at this level, is a championship keeper and people thinking he should have been saving penalties and shots struck hard from six yards when our defence was letting us down.

As for Pulis setting the team up to make him look good - that is a huge discredit to him, we defend well but he hasn't exactly been quiet in the net or limited to a type of save.

He can't win with some people, when he concedes (when most keepers wouldn't have done better) and our team isn't defending well like the first 10 games or so - he is slated for being championship quality and should be doing better, when he gets clean sheets and MotM performances it is Pulis making him look good. What a load of rubbish.

Sorry, but I've yet to see any MOTM performances from Speroni this season. A good save yesterday from Whelan's header but any competent keeper should have saved that. Earlier in the season he should have done better with his positioning for a couple of free-kicks that went in, and he could have done better with other goals scored in particular by Swansea and Southampton. He is doing well now because the defence is playing better. Let's not get carried away.

The critcism earlier in the season wasn't fair or objective.

The team was playing f***ing rubbish and couldn't even get out their half at times yet some were on here banging on about the goalkeeper constantly.

The Swansea game he kept the score respectable and wasn't to blame for either goal.

He was MOTM in the cup game against west brom just 2 weeks ago. As for the free kicks - it's nothing to do with his positioning, the only ones he has conceded the wall has either failed and/or has been struck into the top corner with pace. But maybe you should go down to the training ground to give him advice, I mean it can't be hard for you to show him where to stand for a free kick and you obviously know far more about goalkeeping than the coaching staff who obviously must get him to stand in the wrong place.

I see a player who has improved both in terms of his ability to deal with crosses and his self belief in being able to make it at the highest level.

Speroni's recent performances have been due to a vast improvement in our defence but then the vast improvement in our defence must be, in part, down to their confidence in the man between the posts.

He turns up every week, he puts in a very good shift regularly and hardly ever has an off day. He makes breathtaking saves and for me is the most improved player in our team this year.

He is coming for more crosses and taking them. He is never going to be a keeper who dominates the entire penalty area as that is not his style or strength. However, I honestly believe he is proving to be one of the stars of this season.

If the player of the season vote was today I would be suggesting JS. Consistently good performances throughout the campaign and is now, for me, an absolute Palace legend - not a word I use often.

By far our most consistent player.
He should have in the tank 4 to 5 more years at this level
Let's enjoy his legacy, a true Palace jewel.
If we count the games from the day Ian H. Left, Jules would be top 3 in PL, no doubts in my view and the stats.
Argentina should look at him and we should help him to realize his dream, he deserves our respect and admiration.
A classy Eagles player.
Thank you "Mano de Dios"

The key is stability and confidence.

The full backs have been tinkered with but, against most of our expectations at the start of the season, Gabbidon and Delaney have been automatic choices and have been injury free (and competition free) for weeks now. Having the same pairing in front of you brings understanding and, strangely, confidence. When, as a unit, you then start keeping clean sheets, this grows.

Gabbidon's looked our most dangerous striker at times (at the wrong end) but overall they've performed way above expectations this season.

Jules has always been a top quality keeper. Of course he's got weaknesses, as have all of our defence, but as a unit they've adapted well and cover for each other (and have been well protected by the likes of Jedinak and KG). Apart from Newcastle we haven't suffered a hammering this year (again, against most of our expectations I'd have thought) and although individually they'd struggle to get into most Premiership sides, our central defence has performed admirably.

When one of these two is suspended/injured/replaced we can expect to be nervous. In the meantime Jules has grown in confidence, benefitted from the stability and continues to be one of a handful of our squad who would automatically get into most Premiership teams.

Oh, and I suspect that anyone who was criticising Jules earlier in the season and calling for him to be replaced were supporting "newbies" in relative terms. The thing that worries me is that the most recent newbie at Palace is Pulis.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

I agree with you,I posted earlier in the season that we needed a bigger keeper who came out more for crosses and was more vocal with his back four in general.Full marks to Julian,he has upped his game and is now looking more confident in the box.Never a problem with his shot saving ability, not a position we need to improve on at the moment.

Even before this season, I have had a massive man crush on Jules.

His loyalty and love for the club is something so very rare in football these days. He's been fantastic season jn, season out and fully deserves this season in the prem and his testimonial will be an amazing achievement.

Probably overtaken Dougie as my favourite ever player.

I doubt there's anything we can do, but looks like they are crying out for a consistent keeper.

Of the goalies in their last squad: Sergio Romero would be 1st choice, but is on loan at Monaco and seems as though he barely plays. Always seems a dodgy keeper anyhow. Mariano Andujar is at Catania, bottom of Serie A and letting in plenty. Last is Agustin Orion, who plays at Boca Juniors and only has 3 caps at age 32.

Surely they still have time to have a look at Jules? Would be fantastic to see him lining up at a World Cup!

PS: Just thought, maybe a big photoshopped banner with him in Argentina kit, with their flag above and 'Mano de Dios' below!

Which Premiership goalies would anyone prefer to Jules?

Can't think of any that I would replace him with.

In Speroni we trust.
