In the other you want cpfc 2010 to behave exactly like a Goldberg/Jordan to deliver you with the signings you want, without considering the long term picture. I trust cpfc 2010 and thank Christ you're not in charge. It's egos like yours that saw our club almost die not long back. I think both parties (laddo & syd) raise valid points. My views sit somewhere in the middle. Whilst I hold cpfc2010 in high regard and totally understand their cautious approach to splashing the cash. We are only taking about 1 or 2 players. If they are to truly help our fight against relegation they will cost a significant sum. It is a careful balancing act and somewhat of a calculated risk. However, it should not be enough of a gamble to risk the club's financial security. I, like everyone else am eagerly awaiting transfer news. However, I will not be to upset if we do not sign anyone. I just hope TP sees it the same way. It would be somewhat of a disaster if he walked away with the job unfinished!

What I am saying is once upon a time the likes of Goldberg and Jordan had sound business acumen themselves. They then bought a football club! I'm sorry but you've underlined what I've already pointed out (and, indeed, others). You clearly do NOT know what business acumen is. (You also appear to know very little about the origins of either Goldberg's or Jordan's wealth, but that's another story.) Let me give you a hint: you do not need business acumen to either a). make money, or b) achieve success. It can most certainly help, but it's not a prerequisite. FFS, at least look the word up and then if nothing else, we can then have a sensible conversation.

So who are the 3.? I can't answer for other people, but fairly clearly a goalscorer, a sitting midfielder to play alongside Jedi, and a centre half. Possibly a left back, too but that's a lower priority. Some say a winger but I don't see that. If only two of the three (or four) then the first two. As to whom that is, it would appear Sissoko is Pulis's preferred midfielder and Crouch may be his preferred forward. I don't know. With regard to the answer you're looking for, though, I think the positions we need to fill are obvious and I'm happy to let TP pick the players to fill them.

Syd, acumen means making sound judgements. At a period in their lives Jordan and Goldberg made sound judgements and thus made a fortune in doing so. Stop making out there is a hidden meaning to the word to suit your flawed argument. I have flagged up a major issue here with regards to how previous owners have operated the club and why our owners may then think that they need to be cautious. I have called it and you have absolutely no come back apart from trying to cast doubt on my knowledge of the English language.

Indeed, Jordan's own account makes it very clear that his success was down to incredibly hard work, perfectionism, doggedness, and a willingness to ignore risk in pursuit of the big pay-off. Jordan had many things and some of them admirable, but as I said there is no evidence business acumen was ever one of them. That is something that if you have, you have. It doesn't come and go. What happened at Palace rather underlines this fact; that Jordan never had any acumen in the first place. If he had, he'd not have been so blinded by owning a football club that he'd blow all his money in one fell swoop. Acumen, but the way, is NOT making sound judgments. It's being quick and, in particular, insightful. I don't think "insightful" is a word anyone has ever used in the same breath as Simon Jordan, even when talking about the phone business.
