Wait a minute everyone. Those players people think should be up front getting all our goals, well they're not. The only bright spot is Bolly's dribbling. The counter attack is not functioning since nobody is getting the ball and holding it. Only Bolly, picking up the ball quite deep, has the ball for any time, and the opposition are backing off. With him higher up the pitch and doing the same thing and then the other players rushing to take up scoring positions, well it may work. Palace need to try something and everyone, Thomo excepted, is offering the same old failed system. Not half as mad as we think it is. Skewed thinking that may skew the other side.

If I was put in charge for the rest of the season then I would play Yannick as center forward being supported by Bannan, drop Murray and Punch..

Go on rip me to bits..

If Bolaise was a bit more accurate with his crosses we might just score a few more goals. Playing Bolaise as a centre forward is like putting Johnny Williams in goal. Daft.
I am not to sure about Bolaise, for all his trickery and pace his end product is diabolical. Bannon is much more accurate without the flair.

I found his end product to be quite good in the first of these two goals.

At times he was our best player last season. Maybe give him a break!?

So you'd play up front someone who hasn't scored all season and has possibly the worst shot in the team? Bizarre.

Tell him to aim for the corner flag

In which case I would have to consider moving seats.

I sit in row 13 L Holmesdale, halfway between corner flag and the goal. It wouldn't be safe.

It was only when Thomas came on that I realised quite how poor our crossing had been up to that point on Saturday. We need to find a way to get a delivery from Bolasie so he can do his mazy runs then give the ball to a scorer.

The obvious one would be Murray, it's what he does best.

I noticed Bolasie doing a pretty good job of tackling back on Saturday. Maybe against the likes of Sunderland he should be excused that duty for a more attacking approach. But someone will need to get very close to him up-front to take delivery of the ball. Could even be a job for Gayle.

What is your next suggestion, Bannan at centre half?

I love Bolasie plays with a smile on his face and is the one player opposition teams worry about even if he's erratic at times.
Playing him up front would smack of desperation and probably get us relegated,

Bolasie's play is so unpredictable that his team-mates often don't know what he's going to do next. He does an excellent job of confusing the opposition with his constant running about, but he has no composure which is why his shooting accuracy is so low.

Who we have up front is not the problem (apart from Jerome's header at Arsenal), it's getting the ball there to start with.

Bolassie doesn't even know what he's going to do next.

This definitely isn't a good idea.

We need to give the ball to someone's feet up top who can turn and take on the last defender, not play backwards or sidewards, in the absence of securing a proven centre forward in the last window we have to utilize what we have.. who would you rather have running at you if you were a centre back ? Murray, Jerome Chamach or Bolasie ?

We need to unlock defences and score goals, Remember we have the worst goal scoring record in the league..

Think about it,

But this what Bolasie already does? Generally he receives the ball in the opposition half and either takes on his full back or cuts inside and takes on the centre back/centre mids. If he beats them 90% of the time he hasn't got the ability/sense/wherewithal/quality to do the right thing. Or he gets cynically fouled.

He'd be marked out the game if he played up top waiting for the ball.

For me Jedi and Ledley hold, Ince and Bolasie on the wings, Chamakh in the hole and Murray up top. Thomas, Gayle, Puncheon, Bannan as impact subs. I like the fact we can use Ledley at LB should we really need to chase.

I'd play Speroni up front and put Bolasie in a boat, whilst utilising Captain Sensible as a right back.

This just made me laugh out loud Jamie - quality !

In defence of the OP, when a team has scored as few goals a we have then trying something different is not such a bad plan. He'd certainly cause problems and unsettle teams through the middle, but you wouldn't fancy him to finish !

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue
Yours sincerely
