Deluded Palace fans yet again!

OP is spot on. I couldn't give crap about the style of football etc...As long as we grind out the points needed. Some of our fans are very deluded and have short memories, under IH we tried changing and kooked what happened. Palace are always known as the underdog and with Pulis in charge for me thats the perfect match.
Dont go then. While I'd like to see great football and us scoring hatfuls of goals thats not what supporting your team is about for me, indeed thats not support at all. Its wanting to be entertained, incidentally what a lot of the 'only seen them this season' fans at games seem to expect...
If you look at my post history you'll see I reguarly attend matches at great expense regardless of what league we are in or where we are in the league. You'll also see that I do not slag off the team, individual players, management or the board. Am I not entitled to have a say when we put in two abject performances in a row, both home and away? Of course you are mate, but either go or dont go. If you expect a return on your money then maybe its the wrong thing to spend it on. Isnt supporting the team more a 'through thick and thin' kind of thing ? Maybe its just me, but all I expect for my money is that Palace will be involved in a game for 90 minutes (and we make some noise). I dont think a poor performance can be equated to any cost. I will go until I dont want to / cant afford to regardless of what happens on the pitch. Because thats support isnt it ? It's not a return on my money that I'm after, if it was I'd invest it wisely. Being a supporter and a fan I will blindly follow the team around the country, have the jitters for 24 hours before kick off, get up at silly o'clock and travel to some of the worst towns and cities in the UK. I will get behind the boys from the warm up through to the final whistle and leave the ground hoarse. All I would like in return is to see the team give it all to bring that smile to our faces, go to every game looking for three points. After all, that's what the whole point of playing is, to win. I accept that against top quality opposition you defend deep and tight, soak up the pressure and then hit them on the break. Against teams in or around the mix I expect us to express ourselves more, play some football, use cunning to exploit the space and try to win. This isn't happening at the moment and this is what grates on me. We do not attack teams, we don't try to get the ball down and be clinical. We struggled massively with the wind yesterday, if it was anywhere near as windy pitch side as it was in the stands then lobbing the ball aimlessly forward was neer going to work. I'm confident that we will stay up if we at least try to attack more during the 90 minutes rather than leaving it until the last two minutes of injury time.

Fair enough chap but you have to consider our limitations here and I think TP is acutely aware of that - maybe a little too much but think how much worse we would be if we were shipping goals (like Norwich for example) much more entertaining but morale plummeting - and I think thats important, we're not and the belief is still there.

As for the United and Southampton games I wonder what some fans are coming to selhurst and expecting. United still have unbelievably world class footballers despite their bad form so we was always going to be up against it. As for the Saints they have four England internationals in their team so again it was always going to be a tough game to win. We need to appreciate what Pulis has done. He has taken over a squad and club that had the mentality of a Championship side and has managed to make them believe they can do this. I have every faith in Pulis that he will keep us up and some fans need to stop this "but we are playing boring football" crap and appreciate the job he has done/is doing. Rant over!

Now listen Chiswickeagle and understand the problem fully and properly. People are concerned about the club keeping the position gained before TP arrived. We know the composition of the teams we face and the problems that causes. What bothers them (and me) is the manner the team are going about it. If you believe Palace will stay up getting a point here there as against those going all out for, and getting, maximum points, that's fine. Except this doesn't, at the moment suggest this will be enough and may not be what's required in the long term for the good of the team. That's what some Palace fans are concerned about and to accuse them of not being sympathetic to TP is not really the point. If you really care about the fate of our club you don't need to try to prevent people from expressing these views nor be over sycophantic in support of TP. Balance please.

Oh without a doubt I agree with you about the limited talent in the squad, I knew it was going to be an absolute b****** of a job to stay in this division but what I can't grasp is how a team of professionals struggle to pass to each otherwhen under no pressure and when the ball is lost trot back to defend the penalty area rather than press to win the ball back. Sorry for being snappy earlier mate, I think the possible false dawn has hit me harder than I thought it would when the season started.

I knew it was going to be an absolute b****** of a job to stay in this division but what I can't grasp is how a team of professionals struggle to pass to each otherwhen under no pressure and when the ball is lost trot back to defend the penalty area rather than press to win the ball back. Totally agree with the above. The team are clearly under orders, but there is no guile going forward, at all. Just have to hope that the teams below us stay below us.

I think nerves played a part yesterday - the ball being given away needlessly is SO frustrating, and it happened so much. KG seems to be suffering more than most and if we must have Ledley, Jedinak and another ball winner in there (although someone said very insightfully earlier its 3 players to do 2 peoples jobs) then maybe O'Keefe in there would be good. I tell you what though Im glad im not TP right now, and hope his belief is unwavering (I think it is)

Obviously composure from being settled and fit enough to cope with what you're dealing with on the day is an issue. Either chasing the ball or opposition down, constantly or sprinting up and down, or never being able to dictate the pace of the game yourselves. The worst game where it wouldn't go right for anyone and nobody could lead by example and getting it right was Swansea at home. But a draw in a 6 pointer isn't a cause for concern right now.
