Fulham managed to beat them last week and although this is a subjective view, I can't imagine that Fulham would have had a chance if Newcastle played as well as they did at Selhurst Park.

Newcastle are now in that "nothing to play for" mid table region, but that doesn't mean it will be easy for us as people said the same about Southampton when we played them.

Whenever I feel the need to exercise, I lie down until it goes away.

Will people be moaning again if we "only" get a point at Newcastle?

It'll be interesting to see how the lack of a manager on the touch line will impact their game. By all accounts they lacked that focus and direction a manager offers at the weekend, so you knows.

Let's be honest, every game is one where we could do with a point or three; whether we get them is another matter!

A point, however, away to Newcastle would be a very good point regardless. We can do nothing but hope, sing loud and pray to whoever it is you pray to.

Looking at the fixtures for this weekend, we really do have a great opportunity to get slightly ahead of the rest.

Cardiff play Liverpool. Unless there's a huge upset, Liverpool should win comfortably.

Hull play West Brom. We'll hope for a draw, but at least one of them will loose and slip up.

Manchester City play Fulham....no comment required.

Norwich play Sunderland...similarly to the Hull game, this is a 6 pointer and both are in trouble.

And on the Sunday, Villa play Stoke. Another 6 pointer, although Villa are looking good now.
So basically I thought I'd acknowledge how important picking up points this weekend will be.
Can we do it with our poor form??

Absolutely agree, they're a totally different Newcastle to the team that done us 3-0 at Selhurst. We've got to try and take advantage of their circumstances...

This is not a season definer. Newcastle away you would expect 0 points and that's is what we'll probably get. I don't think newcastle management with be huddled around a table trying to work out our tactics. It will be more of the ultra defensive stuff and hope to grab a 0-0 which would be a very good result.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

I very much doubt it unless we miss a pen in the last minute or something. I think most people realise the difference between Sunderland away and Newcastle away.

If there is a dodgy silver haired geezer outside the ground named Pardew who'll be sporting a placard stating he'll be the next manager of Palace give him a headbut from me!!!!

Normally i'd completely write us off as Newcastle have been a really strong side this season, but they have been significantly weakened by the departure of Cabaye and the loss of manager on the touchlines and the fact that their top goal scorer is injured is also a plus, so could expect us picking up at least a point, 3 points if we are lucky.

What can our fans expect in the premier league. Of course it isn't easy and is one of the best leagues in the world. However far too many of our fans have no support and just judge matches on statistics. I'm sure most people predicted Man U to beat WBA at home...that didn't happen did it. Pardews absence will also put us in a good position.
Let's keep the moaning down and keep the faith! COYP! There's no reason why we can't pick up points...I'm sure those moaners who were at Villa lost faith and went home before the goal!! I do hope they missed it. It would greatly please the positive fans

It's going to be significant climbing all those bloody stairs on Saturday. Oxygene masks at the ready!!!

They have a lift, and I intend on bloody using it, last time I done those stairs I was almost sick at the top, 10 pints before the game didn't help.

Another game where I'd take a good point.

Points against Swansea and Sunderland were good and this would be equally good.
