The football when he came in was decent it's only the last 3/4ish games that have been dross. I think he was the right man for the job but I think he could try some of our more (rare) flair players we have in the squad and not keep using his mediocre favourites.

If the job was to keep Palace in the Prem (it was) then Pulis was the best man for it. I don't like Fat Sam but I think he gives West Ham an edge in a relegation battle; same with Pulis, his experience is worth a few points compared to the guy West Brom appointed. I don't especially enjoy the football I'm seeing at the moment but I didn't particularly enjoy getting 4 points from the first 11 games either. Under TP we have a chance of staying up, I'd have taken that in November.

Terrible to watch, but given what he has to work with, I don't think he has much option.

If we stay up, it's going to need a massive investment to make us competitive next term

Much less terrible to watch than Freedman's 'park the bus and hope to nick a 1 0' philosophy. It aint pretty at times but what do people want? with the squad and resources we have in this division competitive is all we can hope for. if we stay up a couple of years we'll be able to introduce a bit more quality and flair and kick on in terms of league position and performances.
Right now we don't have that luxury. I just don't understand how people can possibly think otherwise.
All this 'I'd rather be in the Championship and playing attractive football' tripe is so small minded. I've got a newsflash, we weren't that entertaining in the second tier either!

Seems to me to be pretty similar to DF's philosophy tbh.

Agree with the rest of your post though. Given what TP has to work with and the position we were in when he came, it's a miracle we've got any chance whatsoever of staying up. If we do, hopefully he'll have the time and money over the summer to rebuild the squad and make is into a more attractive side to watch.

Very impressed with him, made us a solid and organised unit, does not play the clown to the media, tells you how it is. As said before TP is setting up the past few games to not lose need to be abit more brave, want to see the performances we saw away to Man City, Spurs and Chelsea, where we were actually creating chances and looking a threat.

If he keeps us up, he deserves the chance to build his own team over the summer, and give it another crack, would also be happy to have him in the championship, but think he would be snapped up, if we went down!

There's an 'Away Fans' area so why don't you post on there; there's always a few ar$e lickers who'll talk to anyone.

One of the more interesting posts on here and you have to knock it. If you have nothing positive, interesting or half considered to say, why bother posting?

Why should he?
There is loads of negative whiners on here I think talk utter bollocks, but we are constantly told it's just someone's differing opinion.
Why should Beer man be any different ?

Tp is great playing the underdog, it's when the emphasis is on his team he struggles. If he keeps you up this year then you won't be in danger of relegation for as long as he's there. After so long though you will want more and grow frustrated. He does try and the intention is there to integrate a different kind of player than what he knows. We had eidur gudjohnsson, tuncay and Michael Owen and he hardly ever played any of them. Don't what ever you do expect flair, it's not in tones game. Midfielders won't shoot from distance or ever get in the box as he integrates a 'cage' for them to play in (his words) He will play people out of position and not pick people on form. We went 7 years without a left back which drove everyone mad. What aggravated people is his interviews can be as if he's watched a different game, he will say his team should of got this or that even tho they were awful.

The main thing is he plays not to lose not to win. He always said if we draw every game we would get enough points to stay up knowing he would always be in the chance of sneaking a win if drawing the game.

He will however always get 100% commitment out of your players which to keep you up you need.

Our game against palace was probably our worst performance of the season, we still have resilience if tones team but yeh to win every game playing god football with a lot more flair.

Tp will always be appreciated in stoke it was a situation where he really took us as far as he could and change was needed.

We all watch from up here with interest. I hope he does well with you n learns from mistakes he made at stoke.

Time will tell. Good luck 👍

Any questions and I'm willing to answer. Oh by the way, the replies on here remind me of the oatcake message board a few years back.

What do you mean, why should he? Why should he what? I asked a question, why bother posting when it's only total tosh.

In any case the guy is a new poster and is an away fan that most of us would like to make welcome.

What a thing to say, that only arse lickers would want to debate with him. No, most of us want to learn from Stoke's experience. And a lot of us like to make new friends, although clearly not all.

I can't work out if you are trying to defend the indefensible or complaining that he isn't the only pillock on here.
