Bumped into him yesterday at a fair at Hampton Court with his wife and two of his four children. Now 39 he is working as an Agent locally and lives in the Molesey area. Great talent who would of had an even better career but for injury. Nice guy as well, nothing big time about about him.

From what I remember sitting in the Holmesdale all those years ago, he couldn't hit a barn door!

Yeah... lot of promise as a youngster, but never really fulfilled his potential sadly.

Ended his career at Wolves.Colin Lee signed him for Wolves from Swindon for £1 Mill + 20% sell-on clause.
Sadly injuries dogged his career.

i remember him scoring what at the time I thought was the best goal ever at Reading in 1996 when we beat them 6-1 (then Southend 6-1 the week after). Good times.

Seem to remember him scoring a last minute goal in the cup against Watford. At selhurst and think he won a mountain bike?

When I hear his name I remember other random players we had playing for us during that era like Damian Matthews - Tony Folan - Jeroen Boere and Rhys Wilmot

I think you're mixing up two memories. The mountain bike was Leon McKenzie, who made his debut in the League Cup. But George did score a last minute goal against Watford in the Cup, on a Tuesday night from what I recall, maybe in 1995/6 or if not that, 1996/7 season. I think it was the last minute of extra time, too.

I believe you are right. If my memory serves me well the game was played in midweek and I might be wrong but I have a feeling it was against Southend.

That sounds right to me. I don't remember that Leon scored that night, but I remember he was a real handful!
