BREAKING NEWS. Daily Star reporter attends news conference!!! Wow. All this was mentioned in the Pre-City presser, so why this is being mentioned as rumour is bizarre.

Just a newspaper hoping get a few more sales on the back of the tam of the moment. It's all there for any media concern, not exclusive. Good news is TP does seem to be tying up with Palace in the long term. Interestingly, TP thinks improving the facilities are part of a premier league club's aims, whereby it should really be the normal desire target for any club, wherever.

NO, what is bizarre, is yours and a number of others over reaction to the article I did say, "Before anyone says it, "I know it's the Daily Star" but who knows", which pretty much sums it up.

Totally impractical, for the reason that most clubs not in the Premier are struggling financially, and those sort of facilities do not come cheap, and are way out of their budget.

All they've done is cut and pasted his conference yesterday, missing certain sentences out.

They miss the quite important bits about the fact that this is what TP feels needs to be done, and over how many years etc, and that whilst he has spoke to SP about somethings, they haven't sat down about this summer.

Exactly right. This is a non story. Just a space filler from a lazy editor.

If you listen to the pre-match conference it is very clear that these things have not yet even been discussed. TP was stating that he believes that we need to establish ourselves in the PM over the next 4 years BEFORE we spend too much on other things. His reasoning, which he regards as simple common sense, is that it is little use having PM facilities if you play in the Championship.

However this is his opinion and it hasn't yet been discussed with the board. His focus is on his job and the next 3 games.

What are you talking about. This is an article that was taken from a PRESS conference. The whole idea of that PRESS conference is so the PRESS can report on and quote what he has said. Which is what this article is. The Daily Star reporter is doing his job. How is this 'Lazy editing'? The editor would have had little to do with it except approving the piece.
Some people think it makes them sound knowledgeable to use the phrase 'lazy journalism' or 'lazy editing' . Its laughable.

Very true. This is actually a good article and informative for the casual fan about Palace.

Disagree it is lazy journalism and misleading. There have not been any "summit talks" . If you watch the whole press conference (which is on here in another thread) TP says he has only had a "brief chat with Steve " about next season. Apart from saying the training ground needs upgrading he said nothing regarding future plans, out of contract players etc and says "untill I sit down with Steve etc just concentrating on next 3 games.

Important that he gets time to build on this season.

There's been something like 10 managers sacked this season. Crazy if you ask me.

Yes I think everyone is singing off the same song sheet now. To be fair to Parish & co they must have been apprehensive at first allowing TP to transform/spend huge amounts of money on players etc.. I get the feeling he can do no wrong now and will be allowed to get on with the big task of establishing our club in the premiership. Of course I would expect him to have a budget to work with but apart from that it is the Green Light for TP.

Pulis commented on the need for many changes at the Club during a recent interview so I'm sure he has the go ahead to plan accordingly. In all probability there also has to be changes in the overall thought process at The Palace as we will be operating at a totally different level from now on. Perhaps Pulis has been able to push and shove us into the 21st century.

It wasn't though just a summary of the press conference! It was edited to suggest something quite different, thus making a non story out of a real story.

It is very misleading.

If you really want to know what Pulis said the whole conference is available.

This.

As I said in my first post in this thread, they've conveniently missed certain quotes out to make it seem like Pulis "has the green light" to go ahead with these things. Quite the contrary, because TP said these things needs to happen, but if hasn't been discussed at length with SP.
