I also blame the right-wing who came into power here around the same time for doing nothing about it and, thus, tacitly encouraging it.

The pakistani community represents only a few percent of the population yet people among their number have been responsible for numerous multiple sexual abuse cases around the country. There is a major problem here that we have imported and no amount of political correctness should stop people from saying so. These kind of circumstances appear to justify those who were afraid that mass immigration would bring us a whole host of problems that we didn't have before. The pakistani community represents only a few percent of the population yet people among their number have been responsible for numerous multiple sexual abuse cases around the country.

There is a major problem here that we have imported and no amount of political correctness should stop people from saying so.
These kind of circumstances appear to justify those who were afraid that mass immigration would bring us a whole host of problems that we didn't have before.

So again, you're talking about several high profile cases, in which a very small percentage of a community committed terrible offences, and then projecting that as a damning to the whole community.

Around 2500 people are convicted of child sex offences in any given year, out of something like 85,000 cited victims (based on child abuse support groups) of which 22,000 cases are reported to the police.

4100 of the cases reported will end up in court.
