Oh dear!

And it's from a a rabidly right wing source.

It's brand new research, so one would imagine things will be adjusted. The green manifesto is out in March, whether the idea remains...

'Adjusted' means u-turned, doesn't it?

According to 470,522 surveys done on the website voteforpolicies, the Greens have to most popular policies out of them, Labour, LibDems, Tories, UKIP or the BNP: [Link]

Some surprising results and you can take the test yourself and see who you should vote for on the site.

I read the abridged version of their manifesto today, whilst there are some excellent and perfectly sane policies in there, some of them are absolute cuckoo TBH

Have you tried the voteforpolicies survey I linked to?

I tried it. I like what they are trying to achieve, but they are comparing apples and oranges (the alternatives are not related, for example, the question of raising the threshold you pay tax came up in three different sections at three different amounts, so if I strongly favour that, I'm likely to be voting for the party raising it to 11K, then the party raising it to 15.5, then the party raising it to 15).

I actually think of myself as pretty middle-of the road (and I only did NHS, Welfare, Economy, and Eductaion) but I came out 75% Tory and 25% UKIP, which was a surprise!

Maybe not so middle-of-the-road as you thought

Well you do supposedly get more right wing as you get older.

Sadly that survey seems to take fairly random policies broadly under a category and slap them together. I'd be much more interested in seeing the differences in the 'same' policy, i.e.
We'd give all the unemployed a hug and a go on our wives
We'd give all the unemployed a kick up the @rse
We'd give all the unemployed a house and a yacht
We'd give all the unemployed a ticket back to where they came from

Even Labour, yes that's right Labour, are calling the Greens policies 'total madness'!

Ahh, the great Tristram Hunt. He's one of the reasons why many many teachers won't vote Labour.

That's not a retort, Gusset, it is a throwaway line.

Are you going to defend the Greens educational policy? Failure to do so would imply your agreement, at least in part, with the 'great' Tristram Hunt.

Yeah this was as painful as it was hilarious. I think Andrew Neil is fantastic by the way, presses the right buttons, exposes a lack of answered questions and extremely knowledgeable.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I will defend the greens education policies.
There's much research that concludes starting formal schooling at 7 is better for kids.
Greens believe education should not be left to the market and that schools should be under the remit of local authorities rather than corporate edubusiness. There's been much in the news about cronyism, backhanders and dodgy dealings in academies. Academies lack local democratic accountability.
Like myself, greens are against the overtesting of children. This puts a lot of kids off of school.

There's lots more, but you won't read it Matt so I won't bother.

Sorry, can't understand that. I showed several ways in which the greens differ from the other parties. That is not dodging the question, that is answering it.
Now I remember why I stopped engaging with you a while ago.

BTW. I gave up playing what's the missing word. Can you enlighten us? Whilst I understand typing, writing can be an issue for you and sympathise, my advice to you would be the same as I give to my students. Read it back two or three times before handing in.

You have never 'engaged' with me. You have always posted self satisfied ramblings which you think should never be questioned by anyone. The fact I have questioned you, and you clearly hate being questioned as most teachers do as being able to pontificate in front of a group of people (usually younger and far less likely to question your ramblings) is how you get your mojo, is something that obviously gets under your skin.

With regard to your attempt at an insult, I have had worse insults thrown at me today by people who second language is English. Given your professed hostility to personal insults, something you have accused me of many times on here as a distraction from the point of what is being debated, does this make you a massive hypocrite?

Bum gravy. If you were to engage, you'd explain why you think kids should be over tested, why there shouldn't be local democratic accountability in schools and why the academy experiment is working (even though a select committee has just declared it as a disaster)
