I was thinking it could be interesting with Swann. Well actually thinking, I bet they don't put those two on the same game.

KP was alright on commentary during the Big Bash with their Gogglebox type set up. He had nothing on Flintoff mind you.

Sadly I fear England might already be out before he gets to the mike.

The only bit of the Big Bash I caught with him was Ricky Ponting licking his a*se. I imagine he won't be getting that from Swanny, though you never know. I'd love Aggers to quit over this I really would. Bet it's pissed him right off though, which is terrific.

I've heard Swann's views of KP and they were not complimentary. Thing is, these views were aired a few years ago when the two of them were in the England team together. Not very professional of Mr Swann, really, and maybe adds a bit of credence to Pietersen's claims that bullying did go on.

Having said that, Pietersen needed to grow a pair, let his cricket do the talking and stop living his life through Twitter. If he had knuckled down a bit more he'd still be in the team and on his way to being our most successful batsman ever.

One of the reasons Swann (and Broad) had a pop at KP was to do with him throwing the ball recklessly at the stumps causing overthrows and then laughing it off when they got annoyed rather than apologising for ruining a bowler's test figures.

Add that to his twittering undermining the team and captain and it makes sense that KP was not viewed as a team player and ostracised.

That's total bulls***.

Firstly, because we rarely ever give away overthrows. And secondly, the chance of him doing it repeatedly enough to specifically annoy the bowler would be blindingly obvious when watching.

Back to the World Cup. It's a bit worrying that Scotland have just hammered Ireland in a warm up game.

Optimistic as ever

It isn't Stuk, because I've watched it happen!

I watch all England cricket games in entirety (being home all day retired with nothing better to do) and I can assure you it's happened a few times. Broad looked furious when it happened to him. It occurs more for one day games, but has happened in a Test.

You might not have witnessed it, but I have.

I've watched more than my fair share. How many times are we talking then that you've seen it? Or chuck an estimate at the number of runs.

If it's more than 10 runs overthrown, in 10 years of tests, i'll be amazed.

Back to the WC, this live blog about the opening ceremony is very funny.

As entertainment goes it’s like sitting through a speech by the CEO of a spanner factory.

Damn ... this is what it’s going to be like when you have to watch your kid’s - meaning the entire school’s - school concert. Except this doesn’t even have your own kid in it, but a couple of neighbours, maybe a nephew. And you can’t get a beer. And your wife scolds you for playing on the phone

Stuk mate...first off... we always get on... I don't wish to upset that relationship.

You're right - It hasn't happened much, probably not even as much as 10 runs in total.

However, it was Pietersen's reaction to what he did which irked Broad and Swann (Broad more so). If he had shown remorse it would be forgiven but he smiled like a Cheshire cat and probably gave a smartarse retort too.

I'm just saying that those two didn't like Pietersen, and had long memories of his antics... when Pietersen started p1ssing others off in the England camp they lumped in to the fray with glee.

Same here.

My "bulls***" remark was that he did it enough for Swann or Broad to have used that reason to have a pop at him. The two sides do not like each other and any justification, said by one side or the other is to be taken with a pinch of salt. The issues were clearly off-field and ingrained, not one borne out of a moment of on-field frustration.

Bowlers get pissed when anyone adds to their figures, drops a catch etc. Yet we all know who are usually the most guilty party when it comes to extras. But saying that no one of the pitch is doing it on purpose.

I didn't read it that way at all as I thought that Ponting was leading him along trying to get him to be indiscrete - which he was more than once

Fair enough, I only saw it at the point where Ponting didn't even put Pietersen in the top four biggest egos in the English side, which has to be bollocks surely? If he was doing it to get stuff out of him then it's more understandable. I'm surprised though. I never had Ponting down as the next Michael Parkinson.

Talking of other pompous Yorkshiremen, I love Anderson's retort to Boycott's dismissal of Morgan as 'not being as good as he thinks he is.'

'That's rich coming from him,' said Jimmy.

Don't knock Sir Geoffrey, Morgo, they say he's a world-beater.

Oh.... sorry.... that should be wife-beater!
