From the questionnaire...

'If a sportsman touches a teammate’s bottom when scoring a goal, it is because he is gay'

This can't be serious? Is someone taking gender equality piss?

It's rape if he doesn't buy him dinner first.

Why can't we just enjoy football without bringing gender, race, sexuality etc. into it?

Personally I couldn't care less if you are tall, short, fat, thin, white, black, gay, straight... whatever just keep it to yourself as will I and concentrate on the sport which is why we are all here after all.

And this is from someone who calls himself "Beaverwilly". Oh, the irony...

"Pussay Patrol" will also be along soon no doubt

f*** me, that was entertaining.

The image of lesbian sportswomen kissing each other to celebrate a victory should be avoided in sport events

Not only do I find the above acceptable but I would not be averse to going the whole hog and making post-match, inter-lesbian cunnilingus permissible. Call me open-minded if you must.

It would definitely justify all the grunting in tennis.

I concur. We don't need to hear about players sexual preferences. I mean countless players are shockingly open about their girlfriends and wives. They positively flaunt them. It's pretty off putting. If only they'd follow the lead of the model citizen gay footballers and zip it.

And you have no idea where the nickname arose from it is your own mind which has connected it to sexual innuendo I presume.

Besides, are you saying you disagree with my post?

LGBT & no mention of (I)meaning Intersex whatever that happens to be/is. So it should LGBTI to give it it's proper name. Anyway back on point Matt is right too many people are getting pigeon holed (no disrespect to pigeons)this in my opinion what causes a lot of these prejudices in the first place. As I said to the very keen student just the other day asking people about 'Gay Rights' "How many more rights do you need?'

In some states Marriage perhaps?

People do not pop out of the womb defining themselves as gay. The other side of the coin is that the law itself has differentiated, which is also a fixation on sexuality. How exactly do you get to a point where it doesn't, by 'not' talking about these issues? Increased visibility and discussion is the precise reason laws change and people are less likely to be excluded.

Not in NY state as liberal as they come. Why don't they target their 'Gay rights' at those states that have Anti Gay laws or better still target countries like Iran/Iraq/Saudi Arabia which have none. I really feel this has nothing to do with football and is being foisted upon people. Its only soppy liberals like yourself that make it a Big(ger) deal than it actually is.

I didn't say it was in your state. Also, this is ceasing to be liberal or conservative issue anyway. Even in the states they are gradually moving beyond such narrow definitions. You're pigeonholing people too it seems.

There are multiple aspects to everything. Nuance exists. Others catered for the side that says 'these endevours do more harm than good, we should shut up about sexuality'. I stated the idea that without empathetic discussion of these issues and a bit of openness, there would have been less progress legally and within society. That's not 'liberal', not 'conservative', it's what's actually happened.

It's clearly a comment on society that there are no openly gay footballers in the premier league for instance, and if someone is doing a survey into this area, is it really something you should be frustrating yourself over?

Gutted I just read all of that boring s**t.
Can the mods put this thread in the ' boring Spanish thread section'.
Or better still have an lbgt section, it could double up as a dating site??
