Would be a much harder task to nominate an effective prime minister given the divisive nature of our politics. Had better bail out now,because I have broken my own rule for not discussing politics...i got drawn in because I have lived through all Prime minsters post ww2--sorry If you look at it apolitically then Attlee and Thatcher are probably the best examples of actually leading and making real monumental change - whether you think its good or bad is another kettle of monkeys
