Jackie also had had a great tone on his Alto. I don't know his own stuff too much,but will definitely check it out on your recommendation! A good book on jazz is "Jazz" The complete story. flame tree publishing--ISBN 978-1-84451-566-0--General editor Julia rolf. A good CD jazz guide--The Gramoaphone ISBN 0 902470 59 0 very useful for selecting good recordings. (about 1995 but may have been revised.) The Documentary/CD which I referred to earlier is " A great day in Harlem" the main theme is simple enough which is jazz musicians gathering for a photograph. The concept of jazz musicians appearing in daylight was quite amusing!

A good CD jazz guide--The Gramoaphone ISBN 0 902470 59 0 very useful for selecting good recordings.
(about 1995 but may have been revised.)

The Documentary/CD which I referred to earlier is " A great day in Harlem" the main theme is simple enough which is jazz musicians gathering for a photograph.

The concept of jazz musicians appearing in daylight was quite amusing!

Recommend Cassandra Wilson.Good singer and innovative.. "Straight No Chaser" was written by the great Thelonious Monk...and to bring the thread back to base,was first recorded by him for Blue Note.
