Johnny Evans as well as playing at centre-half has played at right-back. He is very good at coming out of defence with the ball, is a good user of the ball and has pace.

I really rate him along side the likes of Wes Brown and John O'Shea, who when they left ManU were crap!

They are the reasons Sunderland struggle every year in the prem.

Woeful.

Ok back up for us but id rather DD and Brede ahead of JE.

What has that got to do with anything? When Will Buckley left Brighton he was s*** but it doesn't mean Murray was. When Butterfield left us he was s*** but Hill played in the PL. When Cleverley left he was pretty average but I'd take Pogba in a heartbeat.

You can't base the ability of one player on that of another purely because they once played in roughly the same position at the same club.

I'd be astounded if you can find a single supporter of another club who would take either Brede Hangeland or Damien Delaney over Jonny Evans.

He's s*** because brown and Oshea were , that's flawless logic , kebe was s*** for us and still s*** , so if we sell bolasie , he
Must be s*** to!! Oshea and Brown were decent for Sunderland when they initially left , agreed the last few years they have been poor , but one is 35 and the other one has suffered from injuries his whole career and is also in his thirties. Evans is a decent cb when fully fit , and would be an excellent partner for dann.

I'm sure Carrick can comment for himself but I think these comments may be misunderstanding his point.

As I read it, he isn't saying 'Evans is crap based on Brown and O'Shea being crap', rather 'Evans was good playing with Brown and O'Shea and this is even more impressive if you consider how badly those 2 have been since they moved to Sunderland'.

Doubt it, at 2:05 Carrick said "he's s***" so I;d suggest he is implying that his career will go in the same way as theirs currently is

Having re read the post , I think you may be right , my bad haha , for me Evans is an improvement on the other two , and at 27 has his best years ahead of him, he would be a good option of we are unable to get Williams which seems unlikely.

Aww I missed that , funny thing is , if you take away the freak result where they got beaten 8-0/8-1 I can't remember , sunderlands shocking defence conceded less goals than ours.

Evans would be a class signing, anyone suggesting otherwise is wrong, pure and simply wrong. People say that Jose can pick a player, SAF could also pick a player. He has played in the Champions League against some of the best strikers in the world and learnt from players like Ferdinand (when good) Stam and Vidic, I would have him here in a heartbeat.

For the avoidance of doubt
I think he's s***

And yes I think our existing targets:
Williams, collocini, Chester are far superior than JE.

And yes I am comparing to o's*** and brown at Sunderland.

What I am saying and interesting you compare to cleverly. These manU youngsters (the new breed) are distinctly average players who get found out when they leave and haven't got Rio, vidic etc saving their arse!!!

I wouldn't want him at any price.
A nasty bit of work as well as not very good - happier with Delaney than him.

On the point of Cleverley, it was widely known he was average but that is average by United's standard - Villa wanted him back and Everton were quick to snap him up.

Are players that aren't standout performers at United not good enough for us? Who at United would be good enough for us then? Rooney, De Gea, Mata, anymore?

We signed an Arsenal reserve player on loan last year but now a United player with 200 appearances, Champions League experience and in the prime of his career isn't good enough? This Cabaye signing has driven people's expectations mad

And on your point of James Chester, he's 1 year younger. One got shipped out of United and one played for them 200 times. To say the one that got shipped is far superior is a little presumptious don't you think?

I think that this is my opinion which we are all entitled of.

Therefore pleasestop trying to make me change my own opinion with pittiful facts.

I have watched him and Chester play in the Prem, and believe Chester is a better option for us, and that i would rather our existing back up or partners for Dann to remain instead of getting JE.
