I was in a train carriage late at night once with two other people who did not know each other. I therefore knew that if I dropped my guts no one in the carriage would be able to say 100% for sure who had filled the air with the smell of onion bhajis.

Great plan, but when I looked up it turned out the guy had gotten off at the previous stop leaving just me and an averagely attractive older woman.

I was going to front it out and ask for a high five but I could barely breathe.

bank to waterloo , known as the waterloo and city line , no stop just doing exactly what it says on the tin .
interestingly from bank station to the platform involves a perilous down hill moving walkway, which I could imagine has been the demise of many a high heeled secretary after celebrating hugos` promotion to assistant head accountant on a Thursday evening at all bar one .

interviewer " iggy , do you think you influenced anybody?"
iggy pop " I think I wiped out the 60`S "

Gunnislake to Plymouth.

Parking at Gunnislake is free and the train never crowded. Trundles along local country lines and over the Tamar viaduct at Calstock. Visits stations left over from the 1950's.

I'd like to drive trains. From what I've heard, time flies by.

Here is my local train, the Pilatus 48 degree cog railway...steepest in Europe.

Probably slightly prettier than Norwood Junction

Faster than fairies, faster than witches,
Bridges and houses, hedges and ditches;
And charging along like troops in a battle,
All through the meadows the horses and cattle:
All of the sights of the hill and the plain
Fly as thick as driving rain;
And ever again, in the wink of an eye,
Painted stations whistle by.

Here is a child who clambers and scrambles,
All by himself and gathering brambles;
Here is a tramp who stands and gazes;
And there is the green for stringing the daisies!
Here is a cart run away in the road
Lumping along with man and load;
And here is a mill and there is a river:
Each a glimpse and gone for ever!

I'm a sleeping dog, but you can't tell
When I'm on the prowl you'd better run like hell
