Usually if you're going to discredit a statement, you also have to tackle the salient points. Just pointing out that someone is liar is itself a deflection, it doesn't follow that the reverse is immediately true.

To be fair, he's about as unreputable a source as you can get (as a quick google will verify). There are certain people whose opinion is not worthy of perusal without significant supporting documentation. I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly wouldn't waste any of my time reading and counter arguing (and I'm sure people would do the same were the author Katie Hopkins or Richard Littlejohn). It's right up there with "this bloke down the pub said..."

To be fair, he's about as unreputable a source as you can get (as a quick google will verify). There are certain people whose opinion is not worthy of perusal without significant supporting documentation. I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly wouldn't waste any of my time reading and counter arguing (and I'm sure people would do the same were the author Katie Hopkins or Richard Littlejohn). It's right up there with "this bloke down the pub said..."

What lies with regard to Coulson and Brookes?

If I remember rightly, that they were professional associates, and not actual friends. Turned out they were friends. I can't remember the exact deception over Coulson, there were I think a few (including him being given security classified documents, without ever being vetted - because he would have failed the vetting process).

The point wasn't however so much, that, but you can't really just point at someone and say liar, and consider that as a blanket dismissal of everything they've ever said - you still need to engage with the statement, to establish the facts.

Otherwise you end up without the facts, just assumptions and what you want to believe.

Well yes and know, he may be a deceptive little toe rag but that doesn't immediately follow that report was also untrue, or devoid of facts - just unreliable. Usually if you're going to discredit a statement, you also have to tackle the salient points. Just pointing out that someone is liar is itself a deflection, it doesn't follow that the reverse is immediately true. I am guessing you meant yes and NO.....? Surely if he is a known liar and untruths are his portfolio then it stands to reason most if not ALL of what he spouts is not the truth. As for tackling the salient points why should we believe ANYTHING he posts or sticks on twitter??? I think its best to just to ignore him and find better honest and accurate opinions online don't you??? What lies with regard to Coulson and Brookes? If I remember rightly, that they were professional associates, and not actual friends. Turned out they were friends. I can't remember the exact deception over Coulson, there were I think a few (including him being given security classified documents, without ever being vetted - because he would have failed the vetting process). The point wasn't however so much, that, but you can't really just point at someone and say liar, and consider that as a blanket dismissal of everything they've ever said - you still need to engage with the statement, to establish the facts. Otherwise you end up without the facts, just assumptions and what you want to believe. I always understood that the Brookes connection was through David Cameron's brother and Charlie Brookes. And that it was Andy Coulson who'd lied to Cameron.
