There is a huge difference to a personal fitness regime and playing 90 minutes a week, longer if mid week matches in the Prem. In fact I doubt whether he is anywhere near this level, simply to avoid injury as then he can't join any club. If we are really going to spend £77,000 a week then surely we want a striker who can play near to 90 mins ? No chance with this guy.

I totally agree, i didn't mean to compare my own personal fitness with that to a premoer league professional.. i meant to point out that i find the tine to keep myself in good shape in limited time.. With 77k a week, nothing else on the cards to do plus a fan base screaming you on each week, all with a team of professionals guiding you through fitness and nutritional requirements -i just dont think it'll take as long as some are anticipating..

I think it does take several weeks at least. look at how Chamahk still does not look full up to pace despite several weeks of cameo appearances and look at Wickham at the start of the season, was 4 to 5 games until he looked to be a cohesive part of the team. Wickham had played regularly last season. Think I saw somewhere that Adebayor has played a grand total of 14 minutes since November 2014!

You're all using the wrong word. It's easy to maintain fitness when you're not playing. What's lacking is match sharpness. If you look at an athlete...say, Mo Farah...how many times a year does he race? Half a dozen, maybe? He maintains his fitness almost exclusively through training, then will generally run a warm-up race followed by a target race. There is no question Adebayor can be close to, if not quite, 100% fit following his long layoff. But it will take him 2-3 matches to get up to match-speed and game sharpness.

Is the correct answer, as I said earlier Adebayor looks as though he has kept himself in trim, transferring that into match fitness is very simple and a very short process 2 to 3 games would be enough, players that have had a hard season, then relaxed for 6 weeks will take much longer to get up to speed, Adebayor if he has kept up his fitness regime, only needs match sharpness, he already has skills in abundance and enough experience to make up for the lack of sharpness.

I don't care what his attitude is like anymore. He can score goals and the strikers we have can't. Bring him in I say, can't do any worse than we are doing at the moment.

And this wasn't obvious to you on January 1st? Did you really need to go through the past three weeks to work out our strikers can't score and we need Adebayor? Seriously?

I hoped we could do better but it's the 24th so obviously not. I'm just fed up now and it's not going to get any better is it.

Just wish we would hurry up and get things done.

Yeah but Spurs want us to pay three-quarters of his wages of around £100k per week. It means over three months we would have to spend £8m on him. Typical Spurs greed and I really hope we can find someone else.

The right place at the right time

I make 13 weeks x £75,000 = £975,000. Where did your £8m come from?

Most certainly not European.

If this is true then i'd prefer to save the money for the summer.
£8mil to finish a few places higher? Sod that.

Time to move forward together.

I'm confused, how does 12 weeks at £100k become £8 million? That would be £1.2 million? Or £900k if we paid £75k pw. Or have I missed something in the equation here? Didn't we pay a £1 million loan fee for Tom Ince? (for perspective)

It's plainly obvious we're trying to get a deal done on forwards permanently but are probably being knocked back on bids. Therefore they or we buckle or we settle on Adebayor to tide us over for a few months for £1mil cost rather than pay £5mil+ more for a player at the level we could get in the Summer.

I think Remy has always been what we want and holding out for him and eventually getting him would make it all worthwhile.
