I had the privilege of playing The Sweden Rock festival with my band Killing Floor a few years ago and after we finished our set we went and had a meal on the site which was away from the stages. However we could hear faintly in the distance bands doing their sets. Then all of a sudden the ground started shaking, which I thought to be an earthquake.I said what the f..k is that? to which I was informed that it was Motorhead starting their set.
RIP Lemmy.....Or maybe you dont want peace!!

Absolutely gutted that's he's gone. He had more talent in his little finger than the whole X Factor/Voice generation combined.

RIP Lemmy.

Lemmy, proving that live fast, die young is only for pussies who can't handle the pace. 70 years old and he's probably lived more in those years than most of us could even dream of. I suspect the only thing I've done more of than Lemmy is sleep.

He was also a little partial,-I understand!- to the 'Herb superb'....

The fact that seasoned rockers call themselves tame compared to Lemmy kinda said it all. Talk about excessive lifestyle, but what a lifestyle.

Booze, fags, girls, drugs and music; I can't believe he made it this far (same as Ozzy and Richards, to be fair). It's not like he mellowed either.

Great loss. RIP Lemmy!

I'd recommend the recentish documentary 'Lemmy' - saw it about a year ago. I imagine it'll be rescreened as a tribute.

To be fair, parts of it portrayed him as a somewhat pitiful man in his later years (I don't think it was the films intentions, maybe more my interpretation) but his warmth and vunerability were obvious. Lots of great stories too (you couldn't take lsd for two days in a row coz it didn't work on the second day - but we discovered, if you doubled the dose, it did!). He was fanatical about Little Richard.

Very fascinating though. RIP Lemmy.

Music will be a lot quieter now without Motorhead, saw them in the 80's at Worthing assembly hall ,loudest gig I've ever been to , brilliant!!

RIP Lemmy.

I have heard some cracking stories/tales of when he was living in Mon as a youngster.

Here is the excellent documentary about Lemmy.
