Still no sign of Hrolf and his recommended videos of guitarists in the upper echelons of technique/ability.

Do you need help with the procedure for posting video links Hrolf?

Shame... I was looking forward to seeing them after your big build up.

Great choice. I was going to post this also. Out of all the fantastic solos he has in the Rush back catalog this has to be the best. It's certainly my favourite.

David Hopkin looking to curl one.......Absolutely amazing!!

Yeah nice one Forest.... I know of Rush obviously but hadn't heard that solo... great tone and technique sort of reminded me of Carlos Santana....

BB King

"Paying the cost to be the boss"

Blues Boy!

Still playing gigs right up to his death last year aged 89.

Always called his guitar's "Lucille"....

In the winter of 1949, King played at a dance hall in Twist, Arkansas. The hall was heated by a barrel half-filled with burning kerosene, a fairly common practice at the time. During a performance, two men began to fight, knocking over the burning barrel and sending burning fuel across the floor. The hall burst into flames, and the building was evacuated.

Once outside, King realized that he had left his guitar inside so he went back into the burning building to retrieve his beloved $30 Gibson guitar. Two men died in the fire, and King learned the next day that they had been fighting over a woman named Lucille. King named that first guitar Lucille — and subsequently named every guitar he owned since, as a reminder never again to do something as stupid as run into a burning building or fight over women.

I know there was a thread about favorite bass players and drummers on here somewhere but I couldn't find it.

I supoose bass could qualify under this thread, if not entirely in the spirit.. However...

My favorite drummer with the best bass player ever..

What's not to love...

Stewart Copeland and the Legendary Mr Stanley Clarke..

Watched this again today and thought I would share.
