Sex crimes have increased considerably. Do you also put that down to police cuts.

Police numbers have been cut in the last few years so I think I'll go out and rape somebody. Somehow it doesn't really have the ring of truth about it

There is an element of truth to that, with less police presence on the street and police not having enough time to investigate crime, conviction rates are lower which emboldens criminals, organised crime and increases more opportunistic crime

Still don't understand even in light of the fact crime has increased why you want less police?

The whole police numbers debate is misleading. If you don't have a justice system that locks up criminals they'll be in and any way.

And Dianne Abbot's calculation on police numbers is so farcical it's let the Tories get away with doing what they want anyway as no one trusts Labour.

Is this Thursday's PussyBollox? No-one has said that they want less police so stop deliberately misinterpreting what people say

'Bollocks to Brexit'

The Lib-dems message in their leaflets and you can get the t-shirt.

(you can also get 'stop brexit' for the pathetic).

Even better than 'fromage not Farage'.

Vince Cable retiring shortly, always found him a decent type.

OK I rephrase it, the current government have a policy to reduce police numbers due to austerity, in the same period crime has gone up, the correlation has been ratified by the police commissioner.

Do you agree with this policy?

We are not in recession and the financial crisis was more than a decade ago

I don't understand a situation where having less police is a good thing?

We had far less Police in proportion to citizens in the past before major immigration into the country.

Perhaps the money for more Police should be paid for by those who supported this immigration.

You're going to get Fromaged in these EU elections Steely.

Make sure you wipe your chin afterwards.

Is it because your arguments against Brexit are so weak that you continually try and divert this thread to discuss other things?

They could use the £10bn benefit we received?

What happens with the taxes you pay?

You're arguing to pay into a system in the hope to get as little in return as possible?

It isnt relevant whether my argument is weak if the argument for Brexit is non existent (apart from blue passports)

I would not say that arguing for a country to have self determination is "non existent". Try that with our former colonies who fought for and won independence from what they saw as a remote, centralising and undemocratic organisation.

Likewise I can see the merits of arguing for a union of nations on a continent that had 3 major conflicts in the spate of 100 years largely due to a form of nationalism. However not every country on that continent feels the need to join the EU and I think as our history and to some extent culture differs it doesn't work for us either.
