B eneteke odds to join palace are 1/4 stay at Liverpool is now 6/1 from 16/1 reckon this ain't going to happen myself reckon its going to fall though its now taken almost a month but what do I know

His agent smells like someone desperate for 'a big club' to come in. In May he's 'ignored', in June he 'may have to leave', in July he's 'one year into a 5 year contract.' I'm sure if Chelsea came in, his client would suddenly be feeling ignored by Klopp again. Simon Jordan had the right attitude towards agents.

It seems a scenario he's reluctant to, but open to persuasion for the right deal. It's whether or not we're willing to pay whatever that is.

I'd still go for Babacar, Sakho and a #10 for pretty much the same amount of money they're asking for Benteke.

Fairly sure with most players contracts that if the club want to sell the player is entitled to a loyalty payment however if the player asks to leave that money isn't then owed! If I'm right then the agent is just earning his money by coming out and saying what he's saying!

Sound's like agent saying to Liverpool I want my client to receive a pay of from his 5 year contract. There is no way he will stay at Liverpool he doesn't fit into Klopps plans. Benteke said in may that Klopp ignores him. Liverpool can't afford to keep a 32 million pound player on 130,000 per week on the bench or not even in the squad. I don't see who else would come in for him. Clubs in Italy can't afford him. Think it will be done and hopefully soon, driving me mad now. Edited by sotac464 (11 Jul 2016 6.31pm)

He has never had the slightest intention of joining us. This is all about setting the price and creating publicity with the intention of getting a "big" club interested. Well apparently they aren't and he would rather sit on the bench than come to us. f*** him.

Sakho and Babacar are no better than Wickham we need to improve not buy very similar players that are not much better than what we have already. Sakho scored 5 goals and Babacar only scored 4 goals (in the Seria A!) That's as many as Benteke scored by himself 9 goals and he barley got a game last season.

If he still has an issue with his achilles in any way shape or form, then I for one pray we don't sign him. Not at circa 30 mill. That kind of money is madness for a club like Palace on a player with even the smallest question mark over his ongoing fitness. TV deal or otherwise. If we feck it up, FFP will prevent us from splashing big on a replacement. Keep our powder dry for a couple of players in the 15-20m range. If his achilles is 100% recovered then okay but I still wouldn't lose sleep if he didn't sign.
