First of all I'd like to welcome page 131. I doubt anyone on here really has much idea what's going on. The options seem to be: a) The deal is more or less done but he's hanging on for his Liverpool bonus and will sign next week; b) He thinks little old Palace are beneath his dignity and is quite happy to wait for something better to come along; c) The player is happy to sign but the clubs can't agree a fee. Personally I very much hope it's ( a). There has been a lot of discussion about whether he's worth it, whatever 'it' may be. The value of a player is only a factor of how keen a club is to buy and how keen a club is to sell. In this case I think it's clear both clubs are keen but are Palace keen enough to pay (say)£32 million or are Liverpool so desperate to offload that they will accept (say) £27 million. As long as our board think this is affordable then I'd like to see the deal done.

Edited by dg1937 (21 Jul 2016 3.17pm) One of the problems is that Pool are overvaluing the player and SP doesnt want to pay over the odds, so the deal is stalled. I am sure there is much behind the scenes discussion going on and hopefully aome kind of deal will emerge, some time after the 23rd!

The deals over. Palace have moved onto over targets and so should as we as fans. Christian Benteke does not see a future at Cpfc, otherwise he would of put a transfer request. Move on let's sign D.Sakho and Slimani or Dzeko
