Rumour mill still turning but as you say no point in having 4 keepers, so given that Julian has been given an extension contract must be that offers in the pipeline for Hennessy? And nobody surely would buy McCarthy?

And surely nobody can be as narrow minded as this!

Last season nine clubs in the PL conceded more goals than us, including four that finished above us. However, 16 clubs scored more goals than us, including one of the relegated teams. Our priority should be signing at least two strikers who actually put the ball in the back of the net, three if Gayle is going. We don't need any more keepers, especially ones who demand to be played every game as a condition of joining.

But how many points did we lose through goalkeeping mistakes? I definitely agree that we should prioritise getting in offensive players, but I think a better quality keeper could single-handedly be worth a good number of extra points, and would also bring more confidence to the defence. Plus, kicking off our transfer business with a high-profile player like Mandana would signal our ambition to other players we might be interested in.

Mandanda would be a huge improvement and if we pull this off id be happy. Goalkeeper is a weak spot for us,

Well when Arsenal signed cech pundits said that's 10 more points for them from signing a great keeper. So stands to reason that a good one for us could be the difference between a loss and a draw ect. Scoring goals is the hardest thing to do in football. So why not look at a gk first while suitable strikers are found. Mandanda is class and could easily earn us an extra 3 to 10 points extra next season.

Agree he has been alright in the euros. But over a whole season , I don't think he's even nearly consistent/good enough

And yet Arsenal finished with 4 less points last season than the season before, winning 2 less games.....

A keeper can be important but people need to look at the stats. As has already been shown, our issue wasn't primarily defensive. It was attacking - we can't score enough goals.

That should be the priority on the assumption that the budget is limited. That doesn't have to mean a striker, if analysis suggests the issue is supply, but it does mean that has to be the focus.

Having said that Mandanda would be an upgrade and even while playing ok for Wales, WH has still shown the moments that have most Palace fans cringing.
