This isn't my story, but one from a colleague. They are the one who told the man in question to leave, and I'm think I'm right in saying he's barred from this place. Jim Davidson has a reputation for not being a nice man. He visited a well-known high street outlet, kicked off, acted a t*** and expected to be seen to regardless of a queue of people there before him. Stinking of booze, he insisted on being seen to immediately. When told this was not going to happen, he uttered the immortal line of 'you'll regret this, don't you know who I am?' Like anyone gives a f*** about Jim Davidson. Not sure if they said yes or no to that question, but either way, clearly they knew who he was, which is unfortunate if you're ever barred. I Won't elaborate on the gender and ethnicity of the person who denied him but I suspect this will have riled the diversity-intolerant drunk. On a similar, but entirely opposite note, I know several people that have met Keith Chegwin, and it is unanimously agreed he is a thoroughly lovely and warm individual. Flying back from Manchester one Friday (late 90's) and the Man U team, staff, including Fergie, were in the departure lounge. On same flight to Gatwick as they were playing Wimbledon next day. Sat opposite to 'golden balls' on coach to terminal and chatted on walkway with Andy Cole.

Met Prince Charles at a cocktail party at Sotherbys,some years ago.I didn't know at the time but loads of Buck House staff were doing some extra work on the side in the evenings.

Met Frank Bruno at a sporting dinner in Bristol and asked him if he enjoyed playing Juliet in a comedy sketch for Red Nose Day? As usual, he twitched and said "Hur Hur Hur Hur Nice one. y'know what I mean...... 'Arry!" He had huge hands, but not as big as Pat Jennings (who I also met at another sporting dinner) who was very shy and retiring. The best/funniest person I met at these do's was 'Bumble' (David Lloyd) the former England cricketer and Sky commentator. He was hilarious, cracking the old "Is this where the big nobs hang out?" chestnut when he stood next to me for a p1ss in the bogs. Tried to talk to Bjorn Borg at a Heathrow Departure Lounge.... he came and sat at my table pre-flight to LA in 2001 (shortly after 911) with some gorgeous bird as I was having a beer with some mates.... ignored me though and kept his gaze in the woman's eyes.... I just stared at her t1ts after that. Worked for a year with Bill Athey (won the Ashes in Oz... some achievement). He was a fantastic guy who introduced me to loads of celebs but mainly cricketers... Courtney Walsh was a big fcuker as was Dennis Lillee, Merv Hughes and Sid Lawrence. Jack Russell was boring. Also by chance I met Ivan Lendl and Tony Roach (his coach) when playing golf at my club Henbury in Bristol. Both of them were left handed as was I and my playing partner. Lendl was a big hitter and we let him and Roach play through at the 12th.... exchanged a few pleasantries and he was gone. Odds of 2 sporting celebrity left handers joining another 2 left handers on the tee? Billions to 1... I reckon?

Met graham Cole aka the bills Tony stamp at a schools thing at Fairfield halls years ago. Collected an award from Steve coppell when he was palace manager on behalf of my school. Had to stoop to shake his hand and speak to him as he was a midget even next to my 14 year old self Tom Jones concert (mid 90s) was taken by my mum who's a fan!! Sat on the edge of the stage whereby he came over and said something about thank heavens for little girls.. always thought it was a bit of an odd comment

Oh yeah.... in my excitement forgot my biggest thrill.. 1970 - received the mathematics prize for the school from Barnes Wallis, who vigorously shook my hand and said well done. Such a shame my pathetic/lazy parents couldn't be arsed to turn up to see their son receive an award from one of the country's greatest ever engineers. To top it all, they gave the signed book away as part of some downsizing project in their later lives as well as my speedway enamel badge collection I owned. My fault I guess for not taking them with me when I got married.... doh.
