Listening to Derek and the Dominos' Layla album for the hundredth time, it's clear how great Clapton is, from Cream to Blind Faith to Dominos, as well as his solo career. I'm not a huge fan of most "great" guitarists but his melodies and tunes are second to none.

Any other Clapton fans here?

Was a big fan when he joined Domino's. His single topping was like the price of double and my fav was his rendition of two for Tuesdays.

Always been a fan since Cream. Around the 90's he seemed to totally lose the magic and became one of the most boring performers going (a friend actually walked out of a concert, he was that dull). Then he seemed to get his mojo back and started producing good stuff again.

My favourite performance of his was at the Concert for George (Harrison's one-year-to-the-day memorial), for which he was musical director - if you haven't seen it I can recommend it for both his solo's, his duet with Paul McCartney and his backing work.....and a whole cast of other greats that money couldn't buy!

Love "Bell Bottom Blues",..though perhaps we should not underestimate Bobby Whitlock's influence on making the album so good.

Love "Badge" too...interestingly another co-write.
