Talking of Newcastle (which I realise we are not on this thread but what the hell) I see that Dwight bagged another two in their latest friendly. I am really interested to see what he will do this season.

Millwall really don't care about us unless they're actually playing us; they're far more interested in West Ham. There may have been some run-ins with them in the 70s, but they would have had those with everyone they played, not just us. Charlton are an irrelevance who're desperate for a rivalry with absolutely anyone in preference to just being ignored.

Whether you choose to acknowledge it or not, there is a tangible rivalry between the fans of the two clubs which hasn't diminished. That won't change because a few, like yourself, have decided to go into denial for some unaccountable reason. If Palace v Brighton was just another game, we wouldn't need all that extra security would we? As or their achievements, we may have spent some time in the PL, with nothing to show for it so far, whereas their infrastructure is light years ahead of ours.

I was being quite genuine. He's their star player and I hate Brighton. Not sure why I'd be sarcastic about him being injured. But there ya go, some people are looking for fights I think! Still, no harm done and if he was calling me a plank, he was right about that but just not calling me it for the right reasons!

You have certainly got a thing about the Seaweed haven't you and yes I have heard the Seaweed sing but I have also experienced pure hatred shown towards us at the Old Den and at Selhurst whilst playing Millwall. To say that their fans only care about us when we are playing them is rubbish. I have met and worked with several Millwall fans who hate the sight of us. Who would you rather take your chances with a Brighton fan or a Millwall fan ? Charlton fans may not be quite as intimidating as Millwall but they show their rivalry and distaste of us in a different way. Were you at the Valley Dave when we were relegated on the last day of the Season and their fans did a Conga whilst taking the p*ss out of us ? I won't ignore that even though it is a more subtle approach than having a seat ripped out of the Arthur and thrown at you. Rather than me going into denial over the Brighton issue, maybe it is a fact that I can go back further than you and remember real rivalry with opponents only a few miles away rather than down a Motorway. I don't know a great deal about Brighton's Infrastructure apart from the fact that they have a plastic stadium as I care more about Selhurst Park and the wonderful and unique atmosphere that we get there that is envied by other Clubs with far greater resources than ours. Yes, I am looking forward to the Brighton games but I do not regard them and their importance in the same way as you may do. That being said, you have the right to your opinion as I do to mine and I respect that.
