The guy who wrote the memo which had evidence backed contentions behind it. The response from Google was just your typical....'this doesn't reflect our values' non evidence, 'feelings' inspired nonsense.

There is literally people in jobs that exist only to push an agenda that has zero connection to the realities of male/female behaviour or cultural choices of different groups.

It highlights a particular criticism I have of 'progressivism' that it doesn't recognise human nature enough. It's prepared to demonise quite rational behaviour if it differs from what it wants the world to be....basically idealism over reality....it doesn't actually help people much.

I see no problem with encouragement with...say wishing for greater female numbers in tech jobs but what a company like Google do goes far beyond that.

Academia is worse, believe me. I don't doubt universities operate blacklists in exactly the same way as has been described within Google.

Having worked in secondary schools if you aren't left wing you basically learn to keep your mouth shut.

It's not good....institutions ideally shouldn't be dominated by a particular political bias....but they are.

No, sorry, that isn't on in my view.

Please tell me the non progressive silicon valley company that this guy could be employed at? When the market you have skills in it pretty much political at one end I'm afraid that's not much of a choice.

Maybe you should read the memo as it was backed up by statistics from what I've read. Please, I'm eager to know what you consider 'dodgy pseudo science' from it? I'm eager to know that.

The person who wrote it considers themselves a classic liberal and the memo reads very mild to me. He even recommends actual approaches which he feels would more effectively increase female participation in the profession.

If this was an attack, it's a very mild one....The response has been aggressive.....It seems to me that even speaking reality gets you fired. I suspect the person knew the risk they were taking....hence the anonymity....But that didn't save him it appears.

Google are a disgrace.
