I'd love us to be more like Huddersfield and have all the transfers done and dusted early.

However, it may be that their targets were ones that no one else was interested in and our targets have more than one option, which makes things more complicated.

Add to the fact that we are not to make a loss and trying to stay within FFP, which other clubs don't seem to be doing.

Finally, as others have said, none of us know if the targets that are slipping through were actually genuine targets in the first place.

Don't worry about it, at least try not to.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

How about this then?

Holy f***!

Lets wait until the club confirm who they go for before casting aspersions on press tittle tattle and coming up assumptions shall we..

Problem for Huddersfield is what do they have left for the Jan window should they get a couple of injuries and start to slide? Have they shot their bolt too early?

Hmm champions league or relegation battle tough choice.

By my reckoning, Huddersfield have spent in the region of £40 Mill in pre-season.

Why does it always take palace so long to sign a target ? How many times have decent players slipped through Steve's fingers because of all the dithering . Maybe things will speed up a bit with dougie.

I wonder if its got anything to do with competition from other clubs, and agents. First thing I'd do, if I was someone's agent, when Palace made an offer, would be to see if anyone else would make a better offer.

If your agent is getting a call from Palace, and saying YES, TAKE IT NOW, RIGHT Now, then you're either fairly low down in the pecking order (such as lower leagues), s**t, old or you need to sack your agent.

Turns out, whilst all of us would give our left nut to have played for Palace professionally, most if not nearly all players, aren't Palace fans, and probably barely aware of us - after all we're a 'make up the numbers' kind of club and we're also a fairly decent chance of relegation.

Funny enough when we were promoted, we did pretty much that... And f**k me we had more Turkeys than Christmas.

The point surely is that at the end of last season we were awful. We lost 4 of our last 5 and didn't score in any of them. We lost at home to a Burnley team who hadn't won away all season and also to Man Utd's u23 team. Without the Sakho games we'd have been down. So far we've brought in a young defender and two young loanees. Sorry but this really isn't good enough.

Pretty much what I have heard from fellow supporters.
But let's wait until the end of the 'Window' before casting judgement.
